Just watched WTVA’s coverage of the pressers after the game.

If you want to taste some delicious rebel tears, check out Lane’s comments about the backwards pass.

So far these are not posted online yet.

Any time they moan about a call, show them the 1981 interference call on us in the end zone.
This always and forever. I was standing 10 rows up right above that so called "call". I've never seen anything like it before or since. The ref, Dick Pace, never called another game. It led directly to the rule change that made PI a 15 yard penalty and not a spot foul. It was the single worst call in any sport I have ever seen, in person, on live TV, or on replay, EVER.

It’s so 17ing beautiful.

Did espn ever replay with field audio? I couldn't tell if there was a whistle or not. I saw one judge down the line indicating backward and another downfield waving incomplete, but no clue if a whistle was blown right after the drop. If there was, he has a gripe. But we didn't score, so **** em anyhow.

I’m not sure how much it matters, we had a TD called short and promptly responded by fumbling on their 1 yard line. It wasn’t the reason they lost, despite him spending half of his press conference talking about it.

The line judge pointed to the backfield (indicating a lateral) while the ball was still in the air. It was definitely a fumble.

Right. That was clear. The review was clear as well. Lateral. The only out from OM's perspective is if they blew the whistle as the ball hits the ground. If so, you have to rule incomplete and move on. No clue if the coverage established they or not.

So much to unpack here.

His whining is heart warming.

Calling his kid as an expert witness was great.

Saying the hit on Mingo as he tried to catch that pass in the first half hurt his ribs and hampered his productivity for the rest of the game was great. That was one of the hardest hits I can remember since they started calling targeting penalties.

When asked why they started the year so good but struggled down the stretch he says it’s because they played harder teams. I could see him biting his tongue before letting out “duh”.

And he’s gone if he gets an offer.

That’s grade A butt hurt right there. I almost feel bad for him having to answer five different versions of the same question about his potential departure. Between calling out the reporter and the refs he is definitely trying to weasel out of responsibility for this loss. He even sounds whiny about Arnette having the guts to all-out blitz them on first down. He got out coached and out classed tonight.

We got exactly zero points off the turnover he keeps whining about. It had no effect on the game. He got out-coached, plain and simple. Hold this L and quit complaining.

I still Don’t understand how hitting the pylon with the ball isn’t clear and convincing. Was there an angle showing him hitting the ground before hitting the pylon or something?

I think there wasn’t irrefutable evidence to overturn the call on the field which was short. The ball definitely hit the pylon but did it hit the ground at the same time?

In all reality, we should’ve won by a larger margin than what we did. So there’s that Lane. With that said, the thought of us winning comfortably one minute, to potentially losing in one of the strangest manners fathomable was absolutely gut wrenching.

Even if it did the ball should have been placed well inside the 1 yard line. The nose should have been right next to the goal line. You want to call it short then fine, but he wasn't that short.

Agree. The ball should have been spotted inside the one foot line.

Never heard a whistle. If there was one, they probably screwed up the call twice. But the bottom line is, if there’s no “inadvertent whistle” we recover that fumble. They got the final outcome of that play right whether there was a whistle or not.

Ironic thing is, Mississippi is bitching about exactly the same thing we were in the Memphis game last year.

I'm not listening to his drivel. Did the refs also force him to call two timeouts before a 2-point try?
He claimed that they let us substitute and wouldn't "pump up" they play clock for them so they had to take a second time out to avoid a delay penalty.

He's full of ****, that's not how it went down. But he's been in oxford long enough to learn the narrative.....Ole Miss never gets beat, it's always the refs screwing them.
