Remember, even Croom won 3 games….

Croom's team would have won no games with this defense. If our defense made a stop or three in the second half Lebby's offense would have scored a couple more times with a true freshman QB and a poor offensive line. MSU averaged 6.8 yards per play today, but the defense couldn't get off the field in the second half. TOP was 41:51 to 18:09. NOBODY can win like that. If any of you think Croom is better than Lebby I doubt you sat and watched Croom. I watched him from the stands in every home game he ever coached here. EVERYBODY in the stands made fun of his offense. People really had bags on their heads in the stands. We could barely complete a pass and he had talent on both sides of the ball eventually. Jerious Norwood at RB among others.
Well maybe Lebby shouldn't have hired his friend who has never called a defense before. I don't understand why half this fanbase keeps giving Lebby a pass. He HIRED them

I don't fault Lebby for hiring him as much as I fault him for letting Hutzler continue to work for Alabama during the bowl game instead of getting over to MSU and recruit.

Good point because that put him behind the 8 ball getting portal talent. Anything worth having was gone already. It just really sux going from a 9 win season to being THE worst team in the SEC in 2 years. And that is not in doubt. Absolute worst. We are not good on either side of the ball.

If you weren’t a mod, literally no one would listen to you (they really don’t already). Internalize that.

Somehow, your dumbassedry continues to amaze me. Croom wasn’t coaching in this SEC or this NIL era. He also wasn’t trying to rebuild after the worst coach in program history (Arnett).
Or trying to coach two years after a guy who ran an offense that was so niche that nobody else runs it, and cared nothing about defensive recruiting.

As terrible as we are, the Croom years were the worst. He got lucky that he had a serviceable DC in Ellis Johnson, or it would’ve been ever worse than it was

Here are some facts, and I have a source. Lebby ain't getting fired. Heck I knew that without being told by a source. The odds of there being any major staff changes are extremely slim, but not exactly zero. The odds are we have the same staff next year unless they move on their own. We need to back them, until they are gone. Then you back the next ones. That's the only way to get out of this mess.

One of the first games my parents let me attend was against Marshall for homecoming where I saw Cheryl Prewitt. I was also there when we beat the hell out of Florida State a couple of years earlier. This is the worst Bulldog team I have witnessed in my lifetime. That’s huge. I don’t know the answer.

Hey smart guy…..do you see that as a problem? I do.
Yeah, it’s likely a problem that we can’t/wont move on from a coach. But what is a better use of funds right now, paying buyouts or NIL?

Are you proposing we go ahead and fire everyone?

At this point I mean yeah he gets another year. But I’d fire Salmon. And I’m not really sure why any big donor would commit NIL money to this shitshow, especially when basketball is good and baseball appears to be headed up.

If a group of big donors are ready to fund NIL in a big way but want a new coach, that to me is the only way a change is made. Even then, I think it’s only made if you essentially have an upgrade identified and basically hired.

I just don’t see how you find enough people willing to take on paying for another buyout.

Yeah. It's just not going to happen. Lebby is here next year for sure. Hutzler 90% sure. I think we're looking at a complete reboot of our football program 1 or 2 years from now. Until then, more of what we saw this year.

Arnett’s buyout was chump change.

And Lebby’s buyout is getting paid either way….pay $13.5 million now, or pay $4.5 million for 12 more shítty games in 2025 and then $9 million immediately after. No reason to delay the inevitable.

Defense was always very stout under Sylvester. Offense sucked, extremely.
Most of our defenses were awful too under Croom. We were opportunistic, and had some really well timed takeaways but without those 2007 is another 3 win team. Our fans have a weird revisionist history about Croom
