We all have voiced our opinion and criticisms, we won. Try to enjoy it. Will has a tough year for whatever reason. I have been on his case more than probably anyone, but I hope he enjoys this win with his teammates and never sees any of my or anyone else’s comments.

At the end of the day, Will did enough to win the game. He had a great two minute drive at the end of the first half to get us back in the game, and threw the fourth quarter TD pass to Rara that turned out to be the winning score. Yes, I was screaming at him during the game, but he did somehow get it done.

We won in spite of Will, not because of him.

I like Will and think he is a good dude but he did more to lose this game than he did to win it.

That's some BS. He made the passes that got us there. Not a single QB on the bench would have won this at at their stage.
Maybe not on the bench but probably in the portal.

He also took some awful sacks, threw a terrible pick, and put the ball on the ground and put the game in jeopardy.

If we lose that game he owns one of the worst blunders in MSU history.

He made some bad reads too. I mean many times he should have changed down to a run. he didn't.

But no doubt, that position has to improve.

Will has a lot of great assets and skills. Three things about his game drive me crazy:

Ball Security. He fumbles more than any QB I remember at State.

Pocket Presence. Often when he feels pressure he's doesn't move up of laterally. He goes backwards and ends up throwing a lame duck off his back foot.

Patience. Sometimes he sits too long, but several times a game he is too quick to go to the dump off. We have guys open downfield but he has already decided to throw it short.

Well yeah. He's got some glaring weaknesses.

One I actually thing he improved on is stepping up into the pocket. But he still has those slip ups.

We really need to bring in a QB from the portal.
I suspect the QB competition in spring is going to be real.

I doubt it. Robertson has been here 2 full seasons now, and couldn’t even beat out Lovertich. I doubt Locke is any further along or else we would have seen him at some point in 12 games. Barring injury, its looking like Rogers until at least Parson gets here and gets up to speed….and thats at the earliest.

Since Rogers in a student of film, somebody should ask Dak to send him a film of how a QB should handle pressure in the pocket.
Maybe WR can learn to move up in the pocket instead of twisting and turning and running backwards and taking the sack. Thought we had seen the last of the backward QB runs a couple of decades ago when State QBs were famous for running backwards.

I have been a huge Rogers supporter, big FSN of Leach but last night was pretty bad from Will. True enough he caught fire on a few drives but those 2 fumbles were atrocious. That is why he should not be running the ball. Ever. If we have to rely on Will to run it we are 17d. Remember Sawyer is a redshirt freshman. He missed spring ball his first year. I hope he is good enough to take the job this fall. Locke is a true freshman and Parson is in high school. So it's kinda unrealistic to be talking about why aren't they starting. Get serious. Will definitely has his limitations but so far he is the best we have.

Legitimate question why? It’s been stated here several times we’ve got two 4 or 5 stars sitting on the bench. Are they leaving or overraTed or just not good? I know leach hasn’t played them and not sure why, so why look to the portal?

Not being a smart *** here, but your math is off. He's had one summer to beat him and is a RS Freshman. Lovertich played ahead of him on SR day.... as he should because he is a SR.

Was it three fumbles and one interception? One? We recovered one by a miracle play?

He’s gotta hit the weight room. He’s gotta stop skipping leg day. He’s gotta use the off-season to get better. Dak should be a shining example of how putting in the work in February and March can levitate your career. Right now he’s easily the weakest quarterback in the league. And there is not a single starting quarterback or backup in the sec who wouldn’t whip him senseless in a street fight.

And I hate to be a Hugh Kellenburger type but he threw one to one of the backs on the right sideline that very easily could have been a pick 6

Did you see one of those 4* QBs play? He doesn’t look like he’s beating Will out.

The thing is, if we win the bowl game that will put Leach and Will in the pantheon. Nine win seasons don't grow on trees in Vegas...
We’ve finished better than .500 in the SEC about 3-4 times, .500 is our historical ceiling. 4-2 in the West is unusual. Leach is currently performing better than Mullen did at the same point in his tenure. Will is setting MSU and SEC records. The difference in Leach haters and others is willingness to face reality and some people would rather see a running back take a handoff for 5 yards instead of catch a pass. I wonder if they also complain if they receive $100 bills that aren’t green or crisp enough?

I think its your math that’s off my dude. He was on the team all year in 2021. Enrolled on 5/31/21, so he actually has 2 summers and one spring here as well. Could have played in up to 4 games in 2021 and kept the RS. I’m not sure he played in any.

So two full seasons, one spring, two summers, and he can’t get on the field. And keep in mind that it took a true freshmen Will Rogers 4 games to beat out a PAC 12 transfer who had an entire season where his stats were the same as Justin Herbert the year before he was drafted.
