So yes you need to make sure your brisket is at least 190 degrees or it will be tough, I like to take mine to 203 and let it rest in an empty cooler.

My cases could have gone sideways but thankfully they turned out OK. In one I didn’t mention there was a very large African-American man walking around Main Street with two unleashed pit balls. He was shirtless and I’m gonna estimate that he had to be 300+ pounds but with a steel muscular belt, even though he’s kind of chubby. He was wearing a chain around his neck as a neck necklace.
What are you doing in case like that if the dogs come after you? Do we call the police while we’re getting chewed to bits? It’s best to avoid trouble spots that you’re number one self-defense tip however, sometimes trouble will find you and I want to be able to protect myself or my family members.
my view and things have changed though, my job is to get home to my wife. So if I’m by myself, my personal protection is my big concern. I’m really done unnecessarily putting my safety on the line for other people in most cases. I’m getting home safely if it all possible, other people can fend for themselves.

i toured smithwick's in 2013 when i was in ireland before the psu-ucf football game. i'll always remember the tourguide was this irish lass that said the word 'barley' with just the perfect accent.
Okay....now that all the excuses have been offered, and he is no longer part of the Lehigh staff......bottom line is he blew it. He had the entire wrestling community pulling for him and supporting him after he was shot and even more so when he recovered enough to wrestle again, as he should have. He retired gracefully and was offered this amazing opportunity. When you are on staff at a major program and leading young men, you must have your sh@t together. He used very poor judgement in so many ways. He only has himself to blame for this situation. I hope he gets his life together and makes another recovery, but it's a shame he squandered this opportunity.
He screwed up a golden ticket. A reliable upper middle class income for the next ~25 years of his life...gone.

There will be college sports.
I could see football and basketball becoming something much bigger and independent leaving Olympic sports plus baseball/softball as the predominant college sports.
Of course I could be full of baloney.

I agree. Not the same civility that I was accustomed to. Not blaming anyone for that, but something isn't jivving. Maybe it's just the news this summer that has people on edge.
It will mature and develop its own personality. It will be dependent upon the people who stay and post.
What’s been lacking is the ethos of “the show must go on”. In the performing arts, if two costars (or two extras) disagree with one another, they know that when the curtain goes up, nobody is there to watch them argue, and so the regularly-scheduled show goes on.
In contrast, here, some people don’t understand that we are collectively creating a “show” about wrestling and good feelings, and that nobody is interested in watching them argue. It’s like going to a wedding. You can’t participate in and prolong an argument at the banquet tables. It would be selfish and “bad radio” and not understanding what sport you are playing.

The site is different and seems to me that the fun bantering gets mistaken or is not appreciated.
El Jefe was probably the hub of knowledgeable comments but would still show humor or wit. I on occasion would hear some interesting developments on recruits or back stories. When I posted it , I didn't feel like I had validate what was said. On this site I see a lot more questioning of unconfirmed comments. Maybe it is where we are as a country with the media outlook.

I think the problem has been the endless argumentation about politics and tribal issues and the Corby-esque defense of one’s honor. I don’t think any third party would consider that to be “fun bantering”.
The same reason 50 years ago at a tournament I moved from the Penn State section across the arena to the Lock Haven section where they were talking wrestling.
Maybe they should make a Tick Tok section here?

On the old site over the years, people know who to not engage with. It was a very knowledgeable site with lots of fun. This site had less traffic, and I would say less fun. It's like the young kids got moved out of the playroom into a formal party. Both groups will adjust. But you will always have the rowdy ones and the get off my grass guys.
In a few weeks things will settle down. This has been a very trying and strange off season.

A couple threads were off the rail for me, I love the wrestling knowledge and inside info. Some threads are no big deal, just annoying, here is my example.
I'm a Pirate fan and I believe the Pirates have the worst announcers in major league baseball.
1. I want announcers who root for the team, I miss Bob Prince.
2, I want announcers to announce the ball game, the strategy, where the defense is playing, how big a lead is the runner is taking.
3. I don't want to listen to useless statistic after statistic, OK Hayes is 0 for 16 let's go hidden viggorish.
4. I turn the sound off when Bob Walk does color, he acts bored.
Interesting take, about us crowd-source-creating our own show.
In that light, this show is certainly far more interesting to me than the shows created by either the commercial wrestling providers (talking faces with no wrestling videos or images + an annoying air of supposed expertise).
If someone like Bogle at Stalemates could produce YouTube content (that he's shared takes 10hrs+ to create) in a way we had daily stuff to consume, like we have here on our show, I'd say we'd be behind them.

. Really - does get annoying when everything is 'good'. Play against them is great. A Play for them is great. What is getting annoying is how great Skenes is. Yes, he truly is but the best in history is a stretch since he only pitches the first 4-6 innings. Those he is being compared to - Vida Blue is one - would pitch until the game determine if he comes out - not the pitch count.I certainly hope they can keep him and a bunch others. Scary when the entire team is hitting below .250 collectively and only the shortstop is above that? We'll see if they 'trade' for the future AGAIN in the next week or so.
Considering that's by far the most serious charges, that could make a significant difference for him.
