Josh has put on some muscle. Looking like a little Mike Tyson out there
I was reminding my brother how we’d set everything aside to tune in for Chris Jackson and Hubbard is like that for a lot of mon-State eyes and ears. We should cast a wide net in the portal, who wants a year playing with Hubb ? I know we won’t have as many needs this year but it would be great to get some icing.

Chris Jackson played 37 minutes a game and put up 23 shots a game. 47% field goal. 85% free throws. Averaged 28 points per game (adjust that for points per minute played and # of shot attempts for Josh). Needless to say, Chris got the 100% green light in minutes and shots.
Josh Hubbard freshman year played 27 minutes a game and put up 14 shots a game. 38% field goal. 85% free throws. Averaged 17 points per game.
Both were all SEC freshman and all SEC. Chris got POY each of his two seasons but lets be honest, he was the only one at that level in the SEC back then.
2024-2025 season is looking really good for Josh so far stat wise.
Are we allowed to call him Chris Jackson because we are talking about him before he converted to Islam? I don't know the rules on this stuff. I just don't want anyone to get canceled, or whatever
I would say he reminds me a lot more of Darryl Wilson. If he's a DW clone we are in for 3 more great years out of him.

In all seriousness, I don't know what the official answer is, but he was still Chris Jackson when he was doing all that stuff in college, so it seems logical and appropriate to me. I'm pretty sure the olympic history books still say Cassius Clay won the gold in 1960. And I assume they still say Bruce Jenner won the decathalon in 76. Those guys changed their names later.
I was in the court with Chris in 1988. Unreal accuracy. When I saw him he was better than any NBA shooter I've ever seen. He didn't try to merely make his shots in the scrimmage. He was bored with that. He was hitting the back on the rim on every shot and it was going straight down. 30-40-50 shots in a row. While being guarded, on the move, hands in his face. He was already at 10,000 hours as a senior in high school. The only guy I've seen in that conversation is Curry. A+++ game.
I do think Hubbard will get close to similar production in college as Chris got. The difference is when Chris was in the zone. You'll never see that in your life probably.
