Is the fad for the spread offenses going away? It seems if you look at all the best teams in the country, they are all running pro offenses with QB's more like Russell. Just an observation after watching football all day today.

When I watch OSU, Ark, etc... I see a more pass-spread system... while we're more of a run-spread system.

whatever the hell the offense is called Oregon runs, and whatever the hell we run. I guess Im talking more of the prototypical pocket QB's. Ark, Bama, OSU, UGA, TA&M.. Thats what I am talking about. Pocket QB's vs. Running QB's

I guess when I see a team constantly in 4 and 5 wide sets, I consider it a pass-spread offense... where we're much more of the run-spread.

And I have a feeling that if we had a good passer on the team, that we would pass more as well. Mullen is just playing the cards he's dealt... and right now, we're a much better football team when we run first to open up the pass, rather than pass first to open up the run.

never going away but we need to run it due to our depth. Mullen will always run it wherever he coaches because thats what he knows and believes in. But the better teams due seam to run Pro style offenses.
