That’s one of the worst, most embarrassing and arrogant responses I’ve ever seen by a coach………only to be followed, a few hours later, with an announcement that the reporter was right and the coach was a lying ba$tard.

If you’re a Texas fan, you can’t feel good with this guy as your coach. I get that they’ll circle the wagons and insult A&M but, deep down, they know their coach is completely untrustworthy with very little honor or character.

I don’t understand why he would give that answer. Did Texas suddenly call afterwards and offer some ridiculous amount. Why didn’t he just say, next question please. He left his family? Say what?

Texas fans won't care one bit about that stuff. He's their guy now and they'll be in his corner. There's an arrogance in Austin that isn't matched many places in the college athletics world. It would make you think that they've been a lot more successful on the field than they have (last football nat'l title - 2005, last basketball Final Four - 2003, last women's basketball Final Four -- 2003, last CWS title -- 2005, last WCWS title -- this year, last volleyball title -- this past season).

Kudos to the reporter who asked the question. He took a ton of Tweeter heat from those who probably had a prejudice against reporters anyway for even asking it. But it was the same as when Roy Williams lost in the Final Four for Kansas and was asked about Carolina and we see how that turned out. The coach blew it and made himself look like an *** in the process (something that he also did when going from TCU to aTm) and I root for him to have zero success in his new job.
