Most balanced Offense I have seen at psu in a long time. Clifford no longer has to be the running game. Linebacker unit is a liability, but Diaz will keep offenses guessing just enough. CJF giveth and he taketh away.
In a weird way, it was nice knowing that when Sean took that wallop in the first we would be more than fine with Allar. Obviously that wasn't what anyone wanted, but at least we know we can cover at all our skill positions. For me, watching Curtis Jacobs in pain on the ground was far more daunting (not to mention Porter).

I just like playing auburn... it always feels like Players and c oaches ALL did an exceptional job.

I thought they were just trying to slow down the Auburn offense. 🤷‍♂️ Did any Au coaches lay on the ground?

I support the team, win or lose. Stopped supporting coaches when they began making these ridiculous amounts of money, and that's all of them, not just Franklin.
Now that players are making ridiculous amounts of $, are they now included with coaches for your ire?

Since you brought up DiCaprio's earnings in a previous post, they are tied to the box-office take of the pictures he's in. Granted, he'll still make a lot of money for a clunker, though it's not uncoomon for actors take a comp package partially tied to a picture's box office. When was the last time you heard of a coach tying his salary to the financial performance, dollars and cents, not wins and losses, of his team? From what I can gather, if left to their own devices, pretty much all of them would spend it all and then some.
I've no evidence that any coach ever tied his/her salary to any 'financial performance', but not so strangely that is precisely where the rope is tied. Here's a 's'posin' for you: s'posin the Lions went 2 and 10 for, say, three straight years. 'Ya think fans wouldn't react by a). not spending their $ by going to games and by withholding money from the various support groups? How about TV 'downgrading' our games to lesser channels thus paying less money to PSU - and no bowl-game $$? All of this (and more) would lead to PSU relieving CJF of his $8-million per-year position? Sadly, it always comes down to the $$.

The closest coaches to tie comp to performance were Frost and Harbaugh taking salary cuts

It is, indeed, possible, if not likely that if PSU had three consecutive years of 2-10 fewer fans would buy tickets and make contributions. As for TV, PSU receives the same share of conference media revenue if it appears prime time on Fox, is buried on BTN overflow, or doesn't appear at all. As for bowl revenue, it's also divvied up equally. With conference tie-ins, if PSU didn't go another Big Ten team would. Given the non-reimbursed expenses for the team and attendant entourage to travel and party, it might be better of financially staying home.

But whatever the financial consequences of bad football seasons Franklin gets paid his $8mm p.a. through 2031, whether he's coaching the team or laying on the beach somewhere.

I am happy for the win and the progress. I was down on this team after the Purdue game because I saw the same old same old in that game. We have improved since that first game. I am happy to see a running game!! Dominating Ohio U and an unranked Auburn by scoring points in the 40s and RBs having 100+ days are great indicators we are improving. I haven't been able to watch the past 2 games and only listen to them on the radio. I am not getting overly hyped yet because Purdue just lost to Syracuse, Ohio U is well...Ohio U, and Auburn is unranked and not the same caliber we usually see from Auburn. These games are great confidence boosters and are going to go a long way as players rise up to game time conditions so coaches can see who is a game ready player. We are improving and need to continue to improve against Central Mich and dominate them as well. Northwestern is an opponent that is well coached and will put up a fight but they also do not look as good as they usually are(1-2). I am looking for us to be finely tuned and rested at 5-0 going into the Big House to see where this program is really at.

Yeah....context here.

All time...we definitely are
Right now....no

But snapshots ain't worth much. Every team that could be considered elite now had periods they absolutely were not elite
