I'll watch the game tonight and have watched previous games. However, my frustration level continues to grow because our 6'7" center shoots, rebounds and blocks shots without jumping two inches off the floor -- and she'll make all the All-America teams.I can think of several other reasons but I'll refrain.
You do know that a Two-Time NBA MVP and Defending Champion jumps two inches off the the floor too?I'll watch the game tonight and have watched previous games. However, my frustration level continues to grow because our 6'7" center shoots, rebounds and blocks shots without jumping two inches off the floor -- and she'll make all the All-America teams.
And don't tell me "that's all she has to do." Hell, that's all she CAN do.
It's just a different level of athleticism. That's why MBB and WBB are different sports. Enjoy it for what it is.I'll watch the game tonight and have watched previous games. However, my frustration level continues to grow because our 6'7" center shoots, rebounds and blocks shots without jumping two inches off the floor -- and she'll make all the All-America teams.

I don't follow NBA basketball so my final answer is "no."You do know that a Two-Time NBA MVP and Defending Champion jumps two inches off the the floor too?
Uh, we have a 6'3" forward who dunks and Milaysia Fulwiley is as athletic as any male on the men's Clemson team. It's just a different level of athleticism. That's why MBB and WBB are different sports. Enjoy it for what it is.
What are you looking for her to do? A few monster dunks and a couple goaltending calls?I'll watch the game tonight and have watched previous games. However, my frustration level continues to grow because our 6'7" center shoots, rebounds and blocks shots without jumping two inches off the floor -- and she'll make all the All-America teams.
And don't tell me "that's all she has to do." Hell, that's all she CAN do.
...and what about our players' ridiculously long false eyelashes? And, are those hair pieces on their heads?
It's just a lower level of athleticism... fixed it for youIt's just a different level of athleticism. That's why MBB and WBB are different sports. Enjoy it for what it is.
If you did, you would know that two of the top five players can't jump at all. Jumping Ability is a good characteristic to have, but not necessary to be good at the game.I don't follow NBA basketball.
There are several top level men's players that can't jump either. It is more important for Cardoso to work on her footwork and ability to use post moves when she is not fronted. It's just a different level of athleticism. That's why MBB and WBB are different sports. Enjoy it for what it is.
She could be the founder of women's basketball and I wouldn't know it.
I think it is more important for Cardoso not to be guarded by a jumping defender over 6'1".There are several top level men's players that can't jump either. It is more important for Cardoso to work on her footwork and ability to use post moves when she is not fronted.
Go ahead, identify as a woman and try out next season. I want the film rights, my idea. You obviously don’t care for women’s hoops. But you sure like to complain about them.I think it is more important for Cardoso not to be guarded by a jumping defender over 6'1".
I think I can take her.
I am glad that you talked about the playing experience of yourself and your sister. I did not get to play on the level that you did. I was a good high school player, but there is not much room on college rosters for 5'11" shooting guards who could only go right unless you have the speed of say an Allen Iverson. However, what I have noticed through my basketball and life experience is that men who played the game can appreciate the work females put into the game to a greater extent than men who did not play for whatever reason. Although it's readily apparent that women don't have the size, strength, or agility of the guys, players know the work that Paopao puts into being an elite 3 point shooter in her game. They know the skill work put into to become an elite ball handler like a Raven Johnson or Milaysia Fulwiley. So, they tend not to poo poo on the abilities of the ladies like guys who did not play tend to do. I was coached by my Dad back in the 80s. He is 87 now and Gamecock ladies basketball and the WNBA is appointment television for him. He says he likes it better than the men now because the women, due to their lack of size and strength, are forced to focus more on fundamentals and don't cut corners like the guys. I am not there yet with my Dad. I am mainly a Gamecock ladies fan when it comes to women's basketball, but I appreciate what the ladies do. I even watch the big games for the ladies like the WNBA Finals. I just don't get it when men try to put the ladies down by continuously stating the obvious that they are not as fast or strong as the men. What are you looking for her to do? A few monster dunks and a couple goaltending calls?
My sister was an all-amercan basketball player and played against D.Staley. I also played college basketball. My sister was a better women's player than I was a men's player. Could my sister hang with the men that played in college?? She would be the first one to tell you hell no.
My point? Men and women are simply different. I have learned to enjoy and appreciate the women's game. Those girls are a lot more talented than you are giving them credit.
Cardoso is very athletic.Uh, we have a 6'3" forward who dunks and Milaysia Fulwiley is as athletic as any male on the men's Clemson team.
I do enjoy it.
???? Dude tell me you are not trying to compare your basketball skills to that of a woman. That is a tell-tell sign that you didn't play much basketball.I think it is more important for Cardoso not to be guarded by a jumping defender over 6'1".
I think I can take her.
Athletically threatened by women. My brother has the same issue and he didn't play. Talking about he was bothered by Watkins dunking the other night. I told him ,"Why are you bothered? Scared she might dunk on you or something?"I don't understand the mind of someone who doesn't like the sport but feels the need to get on a forum to demean it and the kids who play it and represent our university in a favorable manner.
100% I have transitioned to tennis. Same there, women don't hit the ball as hard as men in general but high level women are much more technically sound than men due to hard work and repetition. I really appreciate that.I am glad that you talked about the playing experience of yourself and your sister. I did not get to play on the level that you did. I was a good high school player, but there is not much room on college rosters for 5'11" shooting guards who could only go right unless you have the speed of say an Allen Iverson. I know you’re cool because you called me dude — that’s a “telltale” sign. It also means you can’t go to your left.???? Dude tell me you are not trying to compare your basketball skills to that of a woman. That is a tell-tell sign that you didn't play much basketball.
So you want wbb to be men’s basketball basically before you watch or pull for your school?I'll watch the game tonight and have watched previous games. However, my frustration level continues to grow because our 6'7" center shoots, rebounds and blocks shots without jumping two inches off the floor -- and she'll make all the All-America teams.

Not to be confused with the headbands, compression sleeves on one arm, or one leg, or the black tape that does absolutely nothing, or lastly, the round dots of what appears to be lidocaine or something on peoples shoulders. Of course that’s mbb...and what about our players' ridiculously long false eyelashes? And, are those hair pieces on their heads?
Wrong, I am black and was a three year starter at a 3A High School that made the playoffs in the final two years I was there. Just like a non-athlete, all you have is insults. You insult the ladies, and when someone points how little basketball knowledge you have, you peg me as a private school white guy. Also, tells me that you are new. Most of the regular posters will tell you that I am Black. LOL and SMH at some of the non-sense on here.I know you’re cool because you called me dude — that’s a “telltale” sign. It also means you can’t go to your left.
Using that “dude” dialect clearly designates you as the best white basketball player in your private school.
I can take the 6’7” center AND you boyo! Make ‘em, take ‘em to 10 for a 40oz.?
Also, I don't drink. Drinking is for non-athletes.I know you’re cool because you called me dude — that’s a “telltale” sign. It also means you can’t go to your left.

Agree with the Women's Basketball take. Totally disagree with the NBA one. For example, our Men Gamecocks are probably between a Top 20-Top 30 College Team. If they played the Charlotte Hornets or Detroit Pistons, two of the worst NBA teams, I would give you the points and the Gamecocks on a 40 Point Spread. ...and I love our team and the job Paris is doing right now. Say what you want about the NBA playing style. It might not be your cup of tea, but the gap between college level talent and NBA talent is miles wide. For a point of reference, one of our better recent players, Chris Silva, has been struggling to get a foothold in the league for the last four years. He will get called up for a 10 Day Contract here and there, but he has just not been able to get there. It goes back to the point I made earlier about my Dad preferring the Women's Game due to fundamentals. However, he will quickly acknowledge that the Women's game or the College game is not even close in skill level. Yes, they cut corners. Unfortunately, they can and it still wouldn't matter. I laugh at even the thought of BJ Mack trying to get a shot off against a starting level NBA Big.It’s the most fundamentally sound basketball around now. Men’s college is close, NBA is not basketball.
I quit following our WBB team when I realized our coach was a race baiter. There I said it. Ban me if you must.
This guy or gal is a clown. Rod Dangerfield wanna be.Wrong, I am black and was a three year starter at a 3A High School that made the playoffs in the final two years I was there. We are talking about fundamental basketball. How do you even compare the NBA where they let guys take five steps all game long? It’s non-comparable that’s why the NBA is unwatchable and the fact they also love the Chinese.Agree with the Women's Basketball take. Totally disagree with the NBA one. I’d trade every accomplishment in every other sport for an SEC title in football. Just me. I enjoy our men’s basketball and baseball, but a conference football title blows everything else away.I'd trade every win in women's basketball over the past 10 years for one SEC championship in football.
