If that were the final poll then SMU and Tennessee would be out. IIRC they said Boise St, (assuming they win their conference), would be ranked ahead of Big 12 champ BYU.

1. Oregon
2. Texas
3. Miami
4. Boise St

5. Ohio St
6. Penn St
7. Indiana
8. Notre Dame
9. Alabama
10. Georgia
11. Mississippi
12. BYU

BYU at Ohio St
-winner gets Boise St

Mississippi at Penn St
-winner gets Miami

Georgia at Indiana
- winner gets Texas

Alabama at Notre Dame
- winner gets Oregon

All 3 non champ SEC teams would be traveling North. At State College, Bloomington, and South Bend.

I saw Georgia playing at Penn State in a stimulation this morning.

If Georgia jumps up to #11 then that would be the matchup. That would be a crazy game at the Beav.

I’m not sure how the coach’s poll puts Georgia ahead of Mississippi considering Mississippi just beat them 28-10 last weekend.

I think if Indiana loses they will drop behind the SEC teams. If they get blown out by OSU they may drop out completely. Most of the country rolls their eyes seeing Indiana ranked above the SEC teams now.

EDIT- if Indy drops out it could be Tennessee at PSU. Tennessee was upset last night that their heater was broken at UGa and it was 55F. Imagine them at State College in December. 😂

It can’t only be based on head to head. Heck, you have an infinite loop of:
UGA>Tenn>Bama>UGA

Look at overall opponents and the number of better opponents a team played. Within their grouping, I’d have them in this order:
UGA: Texas, Bama, Tenn, Ole Miss
Bama: UGA, Tenn
Tenn: Bama, UGA
Ole Miss: Tenn

Also consider games against Clemson, SCar, etc.

I think it's just weird that PSU is currently ranked 4th nationally and 4th place in the BiG.

I agree. They are playing really well right now. Good thing is there’s plenty of football left and these rankings will change.

More chaos to come this week. Notre dame army, Florida ole miss, Bama ok, byu at asu. Miami at wake, boise at Wyoming Colorado at Kansas. Oh my.
This format has me rooting for teams I don't like (Michigan, Wisconsin, USC, Alabama, etc)

I would root for Army, Florida, Oklahoma, BYU, Wake Forest, Wyoming, and Kansas.

Notre Dame at 6? And all the two loss SEC teams ahead of Miami.

We got our ranked win back with Illinois at #24. I think Illinois will win out and finish 9-3 which will only help us.

ND being that high feasting on a horrible ACC is a travesty.

I think if they played A&M right now, A&M would play them way better than they did at beginning of season.

I suppose it would depend on how bad their loss to OSU turns out to be. If IU beats OSU then IU will be #4, PSU #5, I’d bet.

Did anybody catch the discussion during the Georgia-Tennessee game about the heaters not working when the temperature was 55°? If we do play an SEC team at home, I hope it is “winter like” and not “Indian summer-ish.”

I love how LSU still received a vote in the coaches poll and 6 votes in the AP poll…seriously?
