...if you want to get this program up and running at a championship level quickly and have on staff his qualified replacement, PSU needs to act fast. I would do it well before national signing day in December. Just my opinion.

Every disappointed fanbase is howling for Urban. I'm not ready to toss out JF yet. I think PSU has some built in disadvantages compared to OSU and UM. Like it or not, we are a clear #3 in reputation. We can't recruit nationally yet, where the top 2 both can. Doesn't matter who the coach is. Urban brings a lot of baggage, too.
Trash person? Probably. Proven winning coach who has won championships and taken teams to playoffs? Certainly.
I don't care how many games he's won- he's a POS. If that's what we want to become, just shut it down.
Not arguing for or against Urban. Fair to not want him within anywhere close to Penn State.

If Urban ever became our HC, I'd stop following PSU Football. He is as far away from Success with Honor as you can get! I'd rather go 10-2 with Franklin than 12-0 with that scumbag.
Sure. Again not totally wedded one way or other on Urban. But the guaranteed 10-2 seasons are no longer a sure thing as well with Washington, Oregon, and USC.

Out of curiosity. When the Franklin contract is up, now what do the 10-2, “success” with honor crowd want to do? Joe paterno this until CJF dies in office? Tell everyone he earned this so he gets to decide? Just stop playing football? Why is everyone a scum bag except for our coach? Why do we have to pretend that when we win we did it the right way but when everyone else wins they can’t possibly be also doing it the right way? The Penn State complex is alive and well.

Disregarding any ethical reasons for/against Urban, at this point in time (2023) I question whether he would have the ability to have the same success at any potential future school as he had at Utah, UF, and tOSU.

I don’t think it can happen, but if PSU could get Meyer, they should do it.
Urban used to keep a picture of Joe in his office at tOSU. That alone gets him a pretty big pass in my book.
Urbs, along with Luke Fickell, were the only college coaches to attend Joe's memorial. Earlier, Pat Fitzgerald stood in line for the public viewing.
As was Pete Carroll when he took over at USC.
I agree 100% - IF you want to do better than 2 losses. If 2 losses is fine, then pay the current coach.
I also wonder if Rhule has a PSU out in his UNL contract - although he seems like he'd be another 2 loss coach.
