He made some bizarre calls in the game.. The worst of which was right before the half when they should've been running out the clock they threw a pass in the flat that we nearly picked.

Then.. Hornsby was the fastest man on the filed and it wasn't close. Every time he ran the ball it felt like he was threat to score. Conversely his throwing mechanics make Tim Tebow look like Drew Brees.

Why not just stay on the ground with the read option, chew the clock and try to keep the ball out of our hands?

Part of it was our lead. Felt like he had to play catch up. Our like our defense if we have the lead. Make teams throw. We dialed up the blitz and made him make mistakes. If we don't play with a lead then it gets weird because teams will test the edges more with the run

Briles really didn't have much to work with. He did run the ball 44 times to 23 passes (and 6 of those were when Fortin was in the game). But other than the 1 long run by Hornsby, they really didn't have great success running the ball. He was actually more effective throwing it. Threw for 234 yards on only 17 attempts (aided greatly by our defense leaving receivers wide open). But without Jefferson, neither of the other 2 QBs were ever going to be consistently good enough to win the game.

This^^^. They moved the ball alot. With what was apparently the #3 QB. They struggled finishing drives obviously, but that's what happens when you have a backup in. The 2 ints Hornsby had weren't bad honestly. One was a forced throw on 4th and 8 with nobody open. It actually was a net gain of 10 yards for Arky vs an incompletion. The 2nd was an amazing play by Forbes. That looked like a TD to everyone watching until Forbes went up with his go go gadget arms.

I saw what Arkansas, Alabama, and Kentucky looked like without their starting QB's yesterday and Arkansas was a damn sight better than the other two. Arkansas has played 5 good defenses already (Bama, Cincinnati, US, A&M, and USCe) and is still 5th in the SEC in total offense right now and they finished the season 2nd last season.

Briles would probably already be a head coach at a good G5 or small P5 school if not for the stink of his last name. I like his offense a lot, because I am not certain he's working with a ton of high end talent, but they are still productive.
