Calling reality excuses isn't the difference you believe it to be. Were you ready to fire Pitino after his second round loss in 1994? Was his "excuse" of Rodney Dent going down for the year unacceptable and proof he couldn't coach? If Mashburn had been injured early in the '93 season would a Final Four or bust demand still have been your position?

Pitino just came off an elite 8 and final four. Man. You are awful at this.
Pitino had already been in a final four and an elite 8and had success in the NBA, and was known as one of the great minds of the game. He also had great recruits coming and was known as a home run hire before he even won.
Pope had 0 tournament wins in 10 years. This gets better and better.

I was obviously talking about the claim that injuries are no excuse. The elite 8 and final four seasons were not handicapped by a series of injuries to key players. '94 postseason was derailed by one key injury. So your claim is now injuries are a valid reason but only when following successful seasons?
