Who's at the top of your list to replace Beamer?

I assume Chadwell is at the top of many lists.

Depending on how the rest his season goes, I'd like to give Brent Key a look. We should at least be assured of having a solid OL.

Chadwell. But tnat ship has sailed, no chance. Va Tech will get him in a year or two, mark my word on that.

Id give a hard look at a Mark Stoops assistant or Furmans HC, both would fit us well. Id love to get Craig Bohl but doubtful it would happen.

That said, Ray will hire Billy Napier for a 3 year $90,000,000 contract

This. Seems we are a part of a fraternity system for coaches needing to get a few more years in their pension plans and closer to retirement age in their line of work. That or once every 25 years we become a proving ground for coaches who have not proven themselves. Zero chance we go with the latter. It will be another 25 years before we take a chance on an unproven coach here again. This is who we are.

Well, Nick Saban isn't coaching right now. Maybe he hates not being in the game any more.

If Nick ain't interested, Chadwell seems like the obvious pick if the wheels don't fall off at Liberty this year.

I'm not sure I can say someone is at the top of the list. From what I have read about Brent Key, I like him. And his background reminds me of one of our past football coaches, Jim Carlen, who I liked a lot.

Obviously, Jamme Chadwell, would be a great hire.

Another one to keep an eye on is Rhett Lashlee of SMU, which just joined the ACC.

If we have an opening at the end of the season, do NOT try to buy on the "cheap". That's what we did with nepo baby Beamer. How is that working out for us? If USC is serious about football, spend what it takes to get a quality football coach. If we are not serious about football, scale back in that sport and fund other sports. Hopefully, it won't come to that.

I believe we should have finished paying off Muschamp by now. So money should not be an issue.

Wouldnt surprise me one bit to see Tanner going after Dan Mullen
Really not a bad choice. His strength is "coaching and getting the most out of the talent on hand". He is the type of coach who has had success at South Carolina. Prefer someone younger. BUT, still, he is 8 years younger than Spurrier was when he came here.

Just hope that Tanner does not promote from within. No one on staff is qualified.

Yeah, Mullen wouldn’t be terrible except for the optics of hiring another former UF coach.

There are a lot of quality assistants out there at Bama/UGA/OSU type programs.

I lost to ODU in my first game of NCAA 24. Made changes and won out, won the national Championships and Harbor won the Heisman. I’ll take a $6 mil paycheck…

The more I think about it the more I like the thought of Mullen coming here. I believe he would be a good fit. What stands out to me is unlike most coaches I see out there today including ours, the guy will look you right in the eyes when he talks to you. Obviously Urban Meyer thought the world of him and hired him to coach QBs at Bowling Green and Utah followed later by being named OC at UF. The guy as been successful in a lot more places than he hasn't... that's for sure.

Mullen is a terrible recruiter. He couldn't get top talent to come to UF. No way he brings any talent to Carolina.

Meyer is sleazy. He went to UF when they were loaded with talent, rode the Tebow train, ignored the criminals in the program and then feigned health problems and claimed he wanted to spend time with his family when the pressure started building. I guess he had enough of his family after a year or so when the OSU job came open. He knew OSU had plenty of talent and the B1G was weak so he went there. He isn't about to take a job at a place where he doesn't have every benefit and South Carolina isn't that place.

Key would be good if he could be convinced to leave GT.
