What a game! If Argentina wins this shootout, the goalkeeper should be an all time hero for that save he made in the last minute.
I want to believe this is a great game. I just do not like a game decided by penalty kicks at all either in regular time or in extra time.
They should keep playing but each team has to take a player off every five minutes after extra time.
Messi cements his place as the all time great. The only thing he was missing was a World Cup and now he has it. What a game. Probably the greatest World Cup final ever.

Ok so is it ok for college football to go to 2 point conversions to end a game in multiple overtimes? That’s basically what’s happening there because they played two extra time periods and they were still tied.
It’s because he wasn’t involved in active play at that time. He was in an offside position but the ball went to his teammate. He then got back onside for the next phase of play, which was when the shot was taken and he scored on the rebound. Offside can be confusing for those who don’t follow soccer much. It can even be confusing for those who do.
For those like me that might not understand some things about the game, even ESPN struggles with it.
