Would Joe coach today?

I wonder if he would.

His values are certainly not what seems to be valued in college football today. Sure, he cared about winning, but he insisted on academics first, was unfailingly loyal to players and to the University. I think he might feel he was holding his nose to be involved in what passes for college football today. He might prefer to teach literature.
I don’t believe Coach Paterno would tolerate what’s going on today in college football. Entitled athletes, paying athletes, transfer portable, coordinators jumping ship and a host of other nonsense that I rather not mention. He would be in the NFL winning Super Bowls!

If Joe was coaching maybe none of the above happens

He would have no control over it and as said he would not win super bowls

C’mon, you know better. How could he have stopped it? Out of all the coaches who have tried to rein in the march towards NIL, Joe’s the one who would have prevented it from happening?

Look, America runs on $$$$, always has, always will. Capitalism is how things roll. The dike just now burst but it was always going to burst.

I think he could have at least slowed things down. He did cast a pretty wide shadow especially prior to JS.
