NC State men’s basketball welcomed one of the top class of 2024 recruits in the nation to campus for an official visit that began Sunday. Jaeden Mustaf, the No. 5 prospect in North Carolina, is in the middle of his visit with the Pack.

Earlier this spring, the four-star Matthews (NC) Carmel Christian combo guard released a top five of NC State, Indiana, Florida State, Miami and Virginia Tech. He visited the Wolfpack unofficially April 16 and returned June 4 for his official trip to campus.

He talked about NC State in an April interview with On3’s Joe Tipton.

“My new hometown,” Mustaf said. “Another school I have great relationships with. I love their play style and I think they would really help me reach my full potential.”

Mustaf’s next official visit will be to Indiana June 8. The 6-5 guard previously took OVs to Georgetown and Florida State in 2022.

NC State leads his Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 29.8 percent. The On3 Industry Ranking considers Mustaf the No. 41 prospect in the nation and the No. 4 combo guard. Here’s his scouting report from On3.

“Jaeden Mustaf is a big-bodied wing who plays with a straight line burst. He is a jack-of-all-trades type of wing in that he can handle, shoot, and pass, playing multiple positions on the floor. Mustaf is a good team defender and rebounds well for his wing position. The jump shot needs work as it is streaky and a bit of a push shot right now, but he makes it some. As a long-armed 6-foot-5 wing, there are many things teams can do with Mustaf, and he is a triple-double threat each time he steps on the floor. His father, Jerrod Mustaf, was a first-round NBA draft pick in 1990.”
