NC State signee Zamareya Jones selected to play in McDonald’s All-American Game
NC State women’s basketball point guard Zoe Brooks was its first McDonald’s All-American Game invitee in four years. Now, the Wolfpack has back-to-back selections.
Pack signee Zamareya Jones, a five-star point guard accodring to ESPN, was picked to play in this year’s annual high school all-star game.
Jones is currently the No. 17 player in the Class of 2024, according to ESPN’s HoopGurlz Top-100 rankings. She is currently the fourth-highest rated point guard in her recruiting class with a 96 grade.
The Bethel, N.C., native committed to NC State on Nov. 1, picking the Pack over the likes of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia and Mississippi State. She signed with the red and white eight days later.
“Zamareya will add another gear to our transition game,” NC State coach Wes Moore said after Jones signed with the Pack. “She is super quick with the ball in her hands, has great court vision and makes everyone around her better. Her three-point range along with her explosiveness to the rim creates shots for herself and her teammates. ‘Z’ is an exciting player who our fans will love watching.”
