If you give MC the GD tiebreaker, MC’s magic number is 35. I’m wondering how Five Thirty Eight will react to reading this here.

Edit:
Arsenal magic number 23, nine fixtures remaining.
MC magic number 35, ten fixtures remaining.

I’ll keep a running tally.

It‘s in good hands. You can obviously handle these numbers. Entrust it with me, and it would be royally screwed up in an instant. Then I’d need you to fix it anyway.

Well earned by Newcastle. Better team from start to finish. Still 2 more games with no Casemiro.

“Despite local media condemning the action, Romero did not call for Hernandez to be punished and said that it was a misunderstanding.”

Tottenham up 1-0 with Everton down to 10 men due to a Doucoure red card then Lucas subbed in and stomps on Keane’s foot, red card then Spurs blow it with a rocket from Keane. Walmart Conte, Stellini, ain’t no good either and neither are Spurs. They can’t pass worth a lick and Conte was right, they can’t play under pressure. Dier, Kulusevski, Perisic all sucked.

Wow. 1-1 final. I thought for sure Spurs had put it away up 1-0 and up a man late.

Yeah, it’s a red card. You cant go around jabbing at people.

that's not an easy sequence to officiate. Kane acted like an a$$ before the incident that resulted in a red card, between pushing down the defender, then kicking his leg while trying to get the ball, then grabbing Doucoure's jersey, etc. And Doucoure's action could be looked at as just attempting to break Kane's hold of him. Kane then really sold the idea that he was hit in the face.

Refs don't like players taking a swing at an opponent, but Doucoure's action was more of a swipe than a swing, IMHO.

If I were reffing the game, I would have given a yellow to Kane and a yellow to Doucoure. I felt that Kane did more than enough outside of the acceptable, and so he would have gotten a yellow for unsporting behavior. And I would have given Doucoure a yellow for the same infraction, and also had a chat with him to inform him that he was on the edge of getting a red, and better improve his behavior.

I haven't looked at the official stats, but I'm guessing that the ref gave Doucoure a red for violent conduct, and I just don't think his actions rise to the level of violent conduct.

Good gracious me that was filthy. I forgot to tune in, dang, I do love those kind of goals.

That was some goal.

Agreed. Look at the GK. From that distance, it's unusual for them to not move toward the ball, and make an attempt to block or deflect it with their hand. The GK made so such action, and that only happens (in general) if they think the ball is going wide, are guessing/leaning toward it being played on the other side, or the shot is from too close for the GK to have a chance to react.

That the GK didn't react from a shot that was from outside the penalty area shows just how exceptional a strike it was from Keane.

Final: West Ham 1, Newcastle United 5

West Ham gave up two stupid goals in the second half. What was the goalkeeper doing?

Manchester United 2, Everton 0, 73rd minute

Everton were in it, down 1-0, but a defensive blunder epic f*ck-up led to a Martial goal in the 71st minute.

He did a Bill Buckner. Probably the worst play of his career, I sincerely hope so. It was quite the pathetic spectacle.

Important match for Arsenal. A win today would go a long way. I’m strangely confident.

Leeds 1-5 Crystal Palace 80’. Crystal Palace scored their first goal in first half stoppage time, four additional goals in the second half. I’m cleaning for Easter lunch, I’ve seen maybe 60 minutes total of this match and have missed all six goals.

It was all Leeds until first half stoppage time. That was brutal for Leeds.
