Wow, most dominant game this season. Pickett and Lundy were great. How about the production from Henn? Huge boost!

Wonder why Mahaffey didn't get in till garbage time...

Surprised about mahaffey as well. Especially since they went to a doubling approach on the Michigan bigs. I figure as athletic as he is he would have been able to get out of the double and recover better than some other guys. Obviously coach knew what he was doing as he completely took Dickinson out of the game.

my guess is that Mahaffey is not quite the outside shooter that they want it on the floor to space like either henn or Dorsey so they chose that strategy for offense

And how many of those middle of the pack teams from the upper conferences actually end up winning? Yes, the tourney is too big but it's not the mid-majors that is the problem.
We would have a hell of a lot better games if a team like PSU was a 16 seed instead of South Hampton Institute of Technology.

Maybe, but 15th seed St. Peters knocking off #3 seed Purdue last year is what makes the Tournament the great event it has become.

Think if a team that knocked off the #3 seed actually had a chance to do something past that. One or two big upsets a year wouldn’t offset multiple great games throughout each round. That would be like putting 5 G5 teams in a 12 team CFP hoping one of them might win one game a year.

Football and basketball tournaments are not comparable.
Let's not forget that before they beat Purdue they beat a #2 seed in Kentucky and a #7 in Murray State. That run would never happen in football.
Oklahoma was one of the first 4 left out. Had they taken St. Peters spot and had the same results most casual fans, like me, would have let out a collective yawn. Instead we had a story that captivated the nation.
I agree serious fans likely favor your position but TV ratings, and betting, for the Tournament are driven by fans like me.
That said, I am off to watch KC and Cincy. I have relatives in both towns.

Latest ESPN Bracketology update: Penn State, despite the ugly loss early last week, is now in the tourney!

They'd be an 11th seed as one of the last 4 in, in a play-in game against ... Pitt!

Some tough road games await - starting tonight against #1 Purdue. How do we defend the 7’4” Edey? We better make those 3s. We still have road games against Nebraska, Minnesota, Ohio State, and Northwestern. There’s a lot on the line as winning on the road in this league is always tough.

Home schedule is no picnic:
Illinois, Maryland,Rutgers, and Wisconsin.

So of the 9 remaining games, I can see us going 2-3 on the road and 3-1 at home = 5-4 to get us to 10-9 (19-11) heading into the B10 tournament, the outcome of which will likely determine whether we get a bid to the NCAA tournament IMHO.

With this team it will all come down to the 3 ball, make them like agaisnt Michigan and they can beat anyone, shoot like they did againsit Rutgers adn they can beat NO one! Hope they get some hot shooting performances the next couple weeks and pull off a couple upsets.

Road games at Nebraska, Minny and OSU are definitly winnable, Purdue and Northwestern probabaly toughest road tests left. These guys have shot well at home all year so 3-1 or 4-0 home slate is definitily possible.

Nearly impossible task to go to Purdue and win, but add to the fact that a player who normally averages five points a game sets the arena record for three-pointers, and you should expect that outcome.

True…..but scoring only 60 pts isn’t gonna win very many games.

I thought this was the year for an invitation to The Big Dance. It appears I was wrong. They are losing to a bad Nebraska team by 9 at the half. They will get an NIT bid and the diehards will promise that "Next Year is THE year." They will be wrong. There is no hope for this program. Not now. Not next year. Not ever. Gawd. I watched the pathetic women's team earlier and now this. What a waste of time. Life is too short to watch bad basketball. I am done for the year. Thank God for wrestling.

Somehow we have it down to 9....but my God. Unfortunately I will force myself to suffer. This is Nebraska, 7 minutes and we could be up 10. What angers me is that a week ago we beat Mich by 25...this game is a must win and or the first time I have watched all year I can honestly say the effort SUCKED!

The defense needs to step up. Now we have a 4pt game with 5 min to play.
