I would've waited for the 50th. Maybe that date won't coincide with Big 10's...?
there I go again, not really knowing but responding anyway - I think it's an extra +1 point for a fall round one - but I've been wrong before
Haven't seen the team score but Iowa's putting in some bonus points that may be hard to replicate. MSU's Caffey's wrestling with confidence this year.
I think it’s too early to worry about. Placing is where the real points come in, and we’ve got 9 guys (hopefully 10) in the quarters. We’re in great shape!

Can anyone explain how/when placement points are allocated? In other words, once you’ve secured at least 8th, are you then awarded team points?

There have been tournaments where Purdue is in first place (early) and I'll send a picture of the score to my wrestler walk-on-at-Purdue-buddy. He appreciates it.

HWT: Greg Kerkvliet vs. Zach Schrader
First period
Super quick takedown for Kerkvliet. It's 2-0. Got the legs in quickly and its working for a turn. Nearfall count is going. Working for the fall. But, Schrader rolls through. It's 6-0 as Kerkvliet continues working on top. Schrader tries to build from his base but Kerlvliet tilts him again for four more. It's 10-0 in the blink of an eye. No clock on BTN, which is annoying, but I think there's about minute left as Kerkvliet tilts once again for four more and a 14-0 lead. Oh boy. Count going again, and there's the fall.

Onto the quarters after a perfect 4-0 first round for PSU.

The pin with the tech locked up is the most dominant way to win, not to mention doing it in the 1st period!
Yeah, my head is already spinning, and we haven't seen a PSU quarter yet. Lol. This BTN+ quad-cam channel is awesome but I'm going to end up with whiplash.

Hildebrandt has the first shot but DeAugstino backs away from it. Bit of a feel out period. No score after one.
Second period
DeAugstino down to start the second. Two cautions now on Hildebrandt. Stalling on Hildebrandt with 54 seconds of riding time. Stall was for hanging onto the leg. Hildebrandt called for a penalty, an illegal hold. He takes a 1-0 lead. But, Hildebrandt continues to ride. But DeAugstino is finally out for a 2-0 lead. 1:31 in RT for Hildebrandt, who trails 2-0 after two.

Hildebrandt down. Hildebrandt gets a reversal to tie it at 2 with 1:45 left. Hildebrandt has 1:18 in RT. DeAugstino escapes to a 3-2 lead, but Hildebrandt has 1:36 in riding time with 1:20 to wrestle. Riding time secured. Stalling DeAugustino. No more scoring. Off to sudden victory at 3-3.

Bravo-Young has 2:12 of riding time advantage. RBY shoots for another takedown. They were neutral to start the third. RBY cuts to 8-3. He then hikes the leg and scores another takedown late in the third. With riding time, it's an 11-3 win for RBY. A major decision. 2:56 in RT.
