Good for Miles. He's a likable guy who's had to work his butt off everywhere he's been. It's easy to cheer for guys like that. How Eagles RB Miles Sanders made his breakout season a reality -- just in time for a payday
Miles Sanders has played the best football of his career as he nears free agency -- and it's all been fueled by those who underestimated him.www.espn.com
I think I was close on this!!no worries, the Eagles wont punt until its too late for the Giants
Do the Eagles resign Miles? A second RB contract seems to violate every principle Howie holds dear.Franchise transition tags numbers are out
Franchise tag for a RB is $10 mil+. Plus seems every RB worth a crap will be a free agent.,,,,
With salary cap in place, franchise and transition tag amounts for 2023 are known
The formulas for determining the franchise and transition tags ultimately tie the amount at each position to a percentage of the salary cap.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com
Depends imo. At $10 mil? No way. At $5 mil? Maybe. But it seems RB is the easiest to draft n play. Right now off the top of my head MS SB Tony Pollard, Josh Jacobs are all FA, there a couple I m forgettingDo the Eagles resign Miles? Agree….Sluggo. Franchise tag for RBs at $10 million is too rich for Miles. There should be ample supply of FA’s out there for a significant cost reduction. Eagles most likely pick up a good back in the draft also and get a relative bargain on a rookie contract.Depends imo. At $10 mil? No way. At $5 mil? Maybe. I think the Eagles think Gainwell is the next guy, resign Boston cheap, draft a good one, let the bottom feeders sign the RBs. That’s why they are bottom feeders
I still think the Texas RB at #10 is in consideration. Especially when you view that as a bonus pick.Agree….Sluggo. Franchise tag for RBs at $10 million is too rich for Miles. NFL puts Eagles' Sills on exempt list after charges
Eagles offensive lineman Josh Sills has been indicted by a grand jury on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping, both first-degree felonies.www.espn.com
I think the Eagles resign Hargrave, Bradberry, CJ Gardner-Johnson, maybe Brandon Graham
I think they resign Dillard as well. Wait on the rest. if its a choice between Sanders, and Ike, go with Sanders. Ike is too expensive, they have replacements for him. Fletcher? I hope he can stay at team friendly deal.
I think that's a pretty fair assement of the situation. Depends how much you have to spend on Hurts, and you have to sign him. I think, the Eagles think, Gainwell can give them everything Sanders does and more. this is the first year MS has been injury free, so there's that. If MS wants top money, he needs, imo to go to some bottom feeder that will pay him.some tough decisions for Howie to make. And to a great extent, his flexibility will be dependent upon how much $$ are left after Hurts signs.
Hargrave -- it's a lot of $$, but he has to be resigned
Bradberry -- this one worries me. He wants top $$. I don't know that they'll be able to pay what he wants. I certainly hope they can bring him back
C.J. Gardner Johnson -- all those INTs he got this season are going to raise his demands. I hope they can resign him
Isaac Seumalo -- they should be able to reach agreement. If he wants $$ that's comparable to the top OGs in the league, they may not be able to reach an agreement.
Brandon Graham -- he put up great numbers this year, in part because of the rotation, where he got fewer snaps per game. I'd say it's 50-50 that he's back
Miles Sanders -- He's their best RB, and I would really like to see him re-signed. Miles seems to want top $$, and I don't think he's going to get that from the Birds
Kyzir White -- the Birds don't pay much for LBers. White did okay at times, and like most LBers had trouble in coverage
Marcus Epps -- part of an excellent secondary. If he wants top safety $$, I don't think they'll be able to resign him
Fletcher Cox, Andre Dillard, Zach Pascal, Linval Joseph, Ndamukong Suh, Gardner Minshew and Boston Scott -- Dillard seems to me the most unlikely. He wants to start, and that's not going to happen in Philadelphia unless somebody gets injured. Joseph and Suh are nice rotation pieces -- depends on how much they want. Minshew didn't impress in the games he started at the end of the season, which may help the Birds in terms of resigning him. I have no clue what Howie will do with Scott and with Cox. If Sanders isn't resigned, then Scott becomes more important. Fletcher is not anywhere near the player he was 5 years ago. I think they'll wait to see how much money they have left after signing some of the aforementioned before deciding what to do with him.
