Steichen and Gannon gone. Sirianni has lost the staff room.
The impact of the Gannon loss is TBD. Looking at the DL snap counts in the Super Bowl raises questions.

I know KC play counts were limited, but that DL got no pressure all night. The lack of rotation limited their ability to at least change things up there.

I wish but if you watch it on tape, there's nothing there....other than it looks like Clark Hunt? has a good looking WAG?
about the 35 sec mark, NFL wont let you que it up

Yep. Watched replay last night. Nothing there. Just an unfortunate play.

So AKB....who does Sirianni hire to replace the two coaches who left? I would love Kingsbury as OC...especially if the hot gf comes with him!

that would be the only reason to hire him!! I dont see that happening, I see an internal promotion. Not sure who, though I would take Press Taylor, the OC from Jax who doesnt call the plays there.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I become that Howie has to go CB at #10 overall. Slay is $26M against the cap and getting up there in age. Even if they retain Bradberry, he'll also be north of 30 and expensive. It's hard to sustain success with that formula and no heir apparent CBs on the roster.

Were it me, I'd resign Gardner-Johnson and let Bradberry walk. They can then draft one of the top 2-3 CBs at #10.

That's a foregone conclusion, yes. I heard there was speculation about Fangio after the Gannon announcement, but he signed with Miami yesterday or today.

Who is the DC? I'm not sold that an in-house promotion is right there. I'd like a fresh system and not a continuation of Gannon's bend but don't break defense.

Saw a mock draft in the PI today. They had Joey going to them at 10

Fangio was announced to Miami early this off season. I don’t see them bringing in a ‘ big’ name from the outside. Heck can’t up stage the HC

Fangio hadn’t signed with Miami until yesterday. He could not be under contract with Miami and Philly at the same time per NFL rules.

per rules but he was committed to them . IIRC it was announced he was going to Miami long before we found out he had a 2 week contract with the Eagles. But whatever. I don't see the Eagles hiring a 'name' guy like Fangio.

Unless of coarse Lurie steps in and tells them what to do like he did with Doug.

update
here was word that Fangio had agreed to join head coach Mike McDaniel’s staff in Miami in late January, but Fangio told multiple reporters that no deal was done and he continued to be linked to other openings as the wait for an agreement lingered. Fangio eventually agreed to a contract with the AFC East club, but there was no announcement because Fangio was still working for the Eagles as a consultant through Super Bowl LVII.

Pretty sure I’m unhappy about this

understandable but I think this is at least one of the main reason, followed by they did improve as the year went on.

The Eagles this offseason are already searching for replacements for offensive coordinator Shane Steichen and defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, who both left this week to take head coaching gigs elsewhere.

fyi from the PI

t’s likely the Eagles also will move on from Miles Sanders, who had a career year but was invisible in the Super Bowl. The emergence of change-up back Kenneth Gainwell, with a little Boston Scott sprinkled in, showed that the Eagles don’t need to use disproportionate salary-cap space on an RB1.

That’s one thing about the NFL: the position you play pretty much determines your salary. Just guessing here: the order is QB, WR, Edge, Corner, LB, RB, TE, DT, OT, OG, C.

Just my opinion as a long time Eagles fan

Miles got less and less carries in the playoffs which i couldn't understand, needs a good 15 -20 carries a game, can see a last chance FA RB coming in off waivers.
Gainwell is a good backup , but can't see him lasting as a starter.

Jalen is franchise but his running is going to be his downfall like most Eagle QB's , which will be sad because he's the best accurate passing QB i've seen in decades.

Not crying over spilled milk, but when the OC and DC were flirting with HC jobs , the hearts and minds weren't there, it showed especially on defense.

I think the wild card in the SB was the Eagles DL not being able to put enough pressure on Mahomes. I didn’t see that coming. And, yeah, I think that this year’s Eagles team was an all-time team. I can’t see them being better next year so it really sucks that they didn’t win.

I think after Edge, you will find OT, and more specfically LT, but there are some RT getting paid. But you are correct. I heard a discussion on SB last night on NFL radio with Jim and Pat, basically they think if he plays it will be on the Franchise tag, which is around $10mm, they offered him $12mil? during the season (maybe $14 mil) but he turned that down. Which at either figure, does not look wise at this jucture.

I found this from Dan Orlovsky....thats the average salary in Millions

QB 40.0
WR 23.0
EDGE 22.0
OL 19.8
DT 18.1
CB 17.3
S 14.4
TE 12.6
RB 12.3
LB 12.0
That’s the average salary of top 10 players by position The league GM’s now think WR is 2nd-most important

its why you take a RB in the first round (especially if you have 2 first round picks) You'll get a good player, cheap, which if you want you can control for 5 yrs, 6 if you franchise tag them. That's about when they run out of gas anyway. Cruel but accurate.

the XFL is on right now a guy I like is Kalen Ballage. Looks to be a big hammer, something different than what the Eagles have now
