I,was flipping through the dial and saw that. Suffice to say Pete Rose has no filter.
Good ole Pete had an affair with a 15 year old when he was married to another woman and had 2 kids. When questioned about it, he said “it was 55 years ago, babe”. Good guy. The good ole Phils had him back Sunday, the first time he was on the field since being banished for gambling.

Grateful to Pete -- his leadership helped get a very talented Phillies team over the hump after several playoff failures -- but he is a scuzzball as a human being

today's TV broadcast has been a joy to listen to. It's alumni weekend, and today they brought back a lot of alums and put a special emphasis on the 1980 World Series team. So throughout the broadcast, they've had a number of players from that team telling stories, conversing, etc.

So far they've had (and I'm probably forgetting a few):

- Steve Carlton
- Bob Boone
- Larry Bowa
- Del Unser
- Greg Gross
- Larry Christensen
- Greg Lusinski
- Pete Rose
- Reuben Amaro (was the bat boy that season)

Mike Schmidt tested positive for COVID this morning, so he had to miss the festivities.

And the Phils are up 7-1 in the bottom of the 7th. Nola was probably stunned with all the run support he's gotten.
Made the trek down today with wife

was fun - good seeing Pete at the game

hot 🥵 as **lls though - ended up with swamp-a$$

A few weeks ago, I started considering going to the game. I was monitoring the weather forecast for the past week, and decided on Saturday that as much as I would enjoy seeing the former Phils, I just didn't want to sit outside that long in the heat and humidity.

Makes sense - Was going to take FIL with us but figured it would be too much for him.

Funny thing - standing at the rail by Campos eating my cheesesteak and hear my name called - four other guys from my town (2 1/2 hours away) we’re standing there 😂

But Phils sure are fun to watch now!

Phillies fans, in your opinion, what is Rob Thomson doing that Girardi did not do? He may get some manager of the year votes.

Luis Aguayo sat with Del Unser and the broadcast team. Was fun seeing the former players

9-1 over the past 10 boys. Feels good to see them in that second wild card spot. Milwaukee struggled this week, too. I think they went 1-6 or something like that. The Padres will click at some point. This is gonna be a St. Louis, Milwaukee, Philly battle, I think.

TMac was sweating that out. Even Kruk was bent out of shape.

Agree with those referring to Harper in the booth. Love the not so subtle tampering he and his wife are working on with Turner and his wife. 🤣
Anyway

Not so good comp. but I think this is turning into a really good team.

Bummer. I'm pulling for him. I don't want him to go off and have a crazy year next year, obviously. I would be bumped to see that, but I want him to have success. Been pulling for Mickey for years now to put it all together.

Haha, I was laughing. TMac switched subjects real quick. I'd love to see Harper in the booth once a week until he returns.

Wouldn't it be crazy if the Padres collapse again, as they did last year? The Dodgers certainly sent a message by sweeping them.

Brewers have a 9 game stretch of Rays, Cardinals, Dodgers coming up. Great opportunity to gain 4/5 games on them.

Here’s my Moniak story - and it’s not a positive one

was at the Selinsgrove BDubs the other day and one of the regulars was there and we started talking about the Phillies

He was leaving and he told us this MM story

they were down in a game at Harrisburg and there was some kind of company picnic and his kid (I think 🤔 13 at the time) went over to the dugout and kept yelling “Moniak can I get your autograph” with no response

then one of his co-workers said, “ call him ‘Mr’ Moniak” - so he did and as soon as he said Mister Moniak he got up and gave him the autograph

WOW. They didn't give him an immediate ticket to the UFC. Shocked.

This play by the fan elicited a lot of comments on the TV broadcast, and then they replayed it and continued talking about it. Little did I know at the time the PSU connection.

Keith is full of it as he is scheduled to be in St Louis this weekend for a Cardinals reunion. He was a great player but he is full of himself. Gary Cohen and Ron Darling are at least balanced, but they are all drooling over themselves with the Mets this year. Season isn’t over yet.

Phillies plate 3 in the bottom of the 8th vs Alcantara and win 4-3. Schwarber with 3 hits. Bottom of order with three straight singles plus Marsh getting doubled up at third on a broken bat liner by Hoskins, but JT Realmuto drives in the winner.

Sounds like an awesome win! On the Celebrity Equinox heading to Cozumel, had to follow on MLB.com. For those who say the Phils are playing no one, they had a brutal schedule the first third of the season.

Any beach shack recs for Cozumel? I rented a jeep for the day...lol

Fun rally. I love it when the Phils are playing good. I look forward to flipping them on every night. Feels good to be excited.
