Hey Grant, let's hope it doesn't come down to that!Let's hope Houston rests some players.
It looks like the Phillies only need to play .500 ball, or just a game or two above. The pressure is surely on the Brewers to win 9+ games out of 13!

Yeah but it’s on the Phillies too since anything can happen down the stretch here. Really hoping last night is he catalyst to take the series with the Braves. Would be a tremendous bounce back and also put themselves in great position coming out of the weekend. But, it’s hard to overlook their record against winning teams versus losing teams, too.Hey Grant, let's hope it doesn't come down to that!

With that schedule, the Phillies are going to leave the door open for the Brewers. I'm not sure if the Brewers have enough left in the tank, but the Phillies are not coming out of those 14 games at 8-6 or better.Right now, the Phitin's have a 2 1/2 game lead on the Brewers for the final WC spot.
After this weekends HUGE 4-game home stand with the Braves (Phils need at worst a split), the Phillies wind up their season with a 10 game road trip. They face the Cubs (3), Nationals (4), and the Astros (3). I'm hoping for a 6-4 trip, losing 1 game to each the Cubbies and Nats (5-2), and get at least 1 game against Houston!
The Brewers have a 4-game road trip at Cincy this weekend. Then, they finish up at home, with the Cardinals (2), Miami (4), and Arizona (3).
If the Phillies can go 8-6 in their last 14 games, the Brew-crew would have to go 11-2 to win the last WC spot. Just sayin'.
They can easily take 5 from the nats and cubs and then win 3 out of 7 against atl and houston is doable. Houston will have the 1 seed locked up they are already not playing everybody. Atl doesn’t have strider this week. Phillies should be able to win 8 gamesWith that schedule, the Phillies are going to leave the door open for the Brewers. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm thinking the Phils are going 6-8 over the next 14 games.They can easily take 5 from the nats and cubs and then win 3 out of 7 against atl and houston is doable. Seranthony was one of the best closers in the league for 75% of the year. There were no closers available that are better than himPhilly should have singed a real closer last off season they would have 5 or more wins right now, would not be sweating playing in post season the last two weeks of the year.
There have been some bad calls on balls and strikes this season, but this has to be right up there. Phils hitting coach Kevin Long got tossed over this one. The ump is Andy Fletcher.

Seranthony is great but did not become the closer till mid season.Seranthony was one of the best closers in the league for 75% of the year. There were no closers available that are better than him
Knebel was one of the best relievers available there just wasn’t anyone they could getSeranthony is great but did not become the closer till mid season.
1-0, the Phightins hold on for the V.
We don’t want to pass the padresWell, the Phils need at least 7 more wins! And, I'm stickin' with it!
**************************************************************************
Also, watch the Padres!! They lead the Phils by only a 1/2 game!
Here's their remaining schedule:
@ Rockies (3)
vs DODGERS (3)
vs White Sox (3)
vs Giants (3)
Braves = 93-57
Padres = 83-67
PHILLIES = 82-67
Brewers = 80-70
I know what you're saying. But, you do what it takes to make the playoffs.We don’t want to pass the padres
But they don’t change whether we make it or not at this point it’s just the brewers to worry about. Im rooting for the padres to win.I know what you're saying. But, you do what it takes to make the playoffs.
Good start tonight. Rhys with a huge 2 out 2 run double, 4-0. It's all up to Nola now.
The game is official if you are the home team in the 5th with the lead. Remember when we beat the nats in syndegards first start, we only batted 4 times but it was still official.Anyone else yelling at Segura and Marsh to just swing through and strike out to make the game official with a 6-5 lead? Ugh!
Big bottom of 9th here. A win today really makes the WC likely.
Nervewrecking Tom!
Phils control tiebreaker as well, so just use your second numbers. Barring totoal disaster should be in, but this team never makes anythign easy.Well, I said the Phils need to go "at least" 2-2 against the Braves, and that's what they did. Had a chance to take 3, but, it is what it is.
If the Phils (83-69) can go 6-4 over the last 10 games, the Brewers need to go 7-2 over their last 9 games JUST TO TIE! 8-1 to take the last WC.
IMHO, even if the Phils go 5-5, the Brewers need to go 6-3 for a tie, 7-2 to win it.
Playing the Marlins (3) and Nats (4), I like the Phils chances.
