I think we are kind of saying the same thing. I get pitching backwards but I always thought you pitch off your fastball. He has basically flipped that from last year to this year. Look at his pitch breakdown year on year. Whatever the reason, he doesn’t like his fastball. So, you’d better have a really good change and back it up with a good cutter if you don’t like your fastball. If you don’t, I think you’re going to have a tough go if hitters start with knowing you’re not committed to throwing #1. I think offseason they need to figure out how to move forward with him but they need to get on the same page with an approach. Hard for me to think it doesn’t start with the fastball and throwing it with conviction.
You are correct, sir. Saying same thing. Starts with command of fastball and he doesn’t have it right now. Must be mechanical. Hopefully Cotham can help.

I don’t want to start a standalone thread on this but I’m watching Seattle-Houston and hoping that the next CBA bans jewelry.

Strider starting is a positive for the Phillies imo. He’s only going 2/3 innings, and if they can beat Strider then they have Morton who they’ve killed this year tomorrow to clinch with no bullpen for the Braves because they are asking them to throw 6/7 innings today.

Ordorizzi, the Braves 5th starter, is on the playoff roster for long relief so I'm not sure they'll have no bullpen tomorrow.

I would rather them throw odorizzi than their actual relievers. If the Braves are relying on him to get big outs at any point in this series they’ve messed up.

That's why the managers make the big bucks and we're here talking about it. 🤷‍♂️

I was hoping to be home by the end of the 2nd inning. Things got a tad delayed, so I didn't get home until the end of the 4th. Listening to the Phils at bat in the 3rd inning on the radio was awesome. The crowd could sense that Strider was fading, and they sounded so into it. And the Fightins delivered. Just a great inning.

It sounds as though Nola has been great so far, though he seems to be slipping a bit in the top of the 6th. Ugh, he should have gotten out of the inning, but Hoskins dropped the throw to 1st on a double play. 1st & 3rd, Braves, with 2 out. And then Harris bounces a ball over 1st so the Braves score a run. 6-1, Phils. Ozuna at bat. He grounds out to SS, so it's 6-1, Phils heading to the bottom of the 6th

Not quite the same significance, but 3rd inning brought back the feeling of the Rollins hit in the 08 series vs the Dodgers. Chills.

Keep it going, Fightins!!!!

Harper just misses a 3-run HR, and knocks in 1. Then Castellanos with a single to plate 2. Bohm ends the inning hitting into a double play. 9-1, Phils, through 7
