I don't think the Commanders are contenders for the Super Bowl, let alone the playoffs (well, they might have a chance for that). But they aren't a basement team. They took the Eagles to OT a few weeks ago.
If you can pick a game to miss, pick the Jets. Or the Commanders, feel free to miss the Commanders game as well, lol, because, as everyone knows, I am a WFT fan and would like them to have all the help they can get.
Fixed for @Tom McAndrew. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Carter got injured in practice on Wednesday. It's a sprained ankle.

Slay -- I can't remember if he dinged his knee in the game last week, or if he was also a practice injury

Sounds like Sauce Gardner is out tomorrow for the Jets. They’ll be missing both starting CBs against the Eagles. That’s a nice matchup advantage against a front that will be tough to run against.

The Jets win against the Eagles a stroke of luck or good team getting a legit W?

Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson may not miss any games with the ankle injury he suffered on Sunday against the Jets.

Johnson had an MRI today that revealed a lateral ankle sprain, according to multiple reports. It’s possible that he could play on Sunday night against the Dolphins.

On Sunday against the Jets, Johnson played just nine sacks before suffering the injury and limping off, missing the rest of the game. The Eagles’ line struggled without him.

Looks like a grade 1 sprain. Better than 50% chance he will be available for the Dolphins game. IMO….the birds will sit him during the first half of that game and see how it goes. It is a long season and the injury can hang and bother him …..so let him rest and recover further during the Dolphins contest. If Hurts is getting body slammed due to misses by his sub….then an in game decision might be considered.

That’s huge positive news. Even if they play it safe and sit him this weekend, there’s a path for him to play soon.

Now they need some decent news on the DB injuries.

And am I the only fan who thought Nakobe Dean looked slow out there?

I 100% agree with you on Dean. He looked slow as hell out there and took several poor angles on plays. Morrow ( his replacement) looked fast as heck in comparison and the few times they blitzed he was right on the QB in a hurry. I did notice that later in the game they had both Dean and Morrow together and that looks like a much better solution. I am giving Dean the benefit of the doubt being he is returning from a multi game missed time due to injury. According to Eagles beat writers he looks great in practice….

This came out of nowhere. Seems like the Eagles have other, more urgent needs like DB/Safety; but OK
I think it speaks volumes about their lack of faith in Quez Watkins and Zaccheus. They need a viable #3 WR too and this may have been an easier lever to pull than DB help. Howie is kind of bent over a barrel there. The entire league knows he's looking for DBs.

I think you nailed it on WR. Quez is out 3 additional weeks due to the hamstring. And hamstring issues with speedy WRs can linger for months. Zaccheus is adequate (he had that one nice TD) but when you're the #3 WR you have to produce when you're targeted. He had a drop against the Jets that was somewhat difficult in that Hurts was scrambling, Zaccheus was right next to the sideline, he had to bend down or go onto a knee to get to the ball, and the DB was on him. I'll give him all those caveats, but the ball him him in the hands, and he didn't make the reception. Zaccheus is a Philadelphia-area guy, so lots of folks in the region are rooting for him. But the Birds need more production and dependability than they've gotten this season from the #3 WR, so the signing of Jones makes sense.
