You are right for the most part. Watkins played too aggressive on defense today, got in unnecessary foul trouble. She was absolutely lost in how to play against the matchup zone. Of course she was not alone in that.

Kitts is not Watkins but she understands how to play high post offense better than Watkins. In the third quarter DS used the right combo for today. Check the shot chart out EVERY basket we made in the third quarter was 3 feet or closer.

In the first half we rarely penetrated their zone by using the high post. We made some 3s, and fell in love with the outside shot.

The adjustment on offense and the much better on ball D turned the tide
I agree 100% on Chloe. In my preview I mentioned the potential for Kitts to have a good game against Georgia's zone. It was her best performance of the season imo.

In fairness to Watkins, she got precious few minutes playing with Cardoso. Even with her offensive deficiencies against the zone, the combined defense and rebounding capabilities of the Watkins/Cardoso duo would have potentially shutdown Nicholson and limited the Dawgs scoring even more and may have lead to a similar point differential. Just speculation on my part.

One thing we can say for sure that the lineup Dawn went with at toward the end of the 1st half, with 4 bench players, was a train wreck. I believe UGA went on an 11-0 run as, ironically, the announcers were talking about how awesome our bench is.

Most Canadians playing at US universities have a visa that forbids employment.
Also visa s don’t allow employment so those pushing for players to be considered employees may not understand that it excludes foreign players.

Looking at upcoming schedules and standings it appears the top 4 in SEC will be
1. Gamecocks
2. LSU
3. OM they have a very weak closing schedule and hold the tie breaker vs UT
4. UT, if they win out LSU, A&M and Gamecocks 🤣🤣🤣🤣they will be the two seed. If they don’t win out, 4th seed.

That would mean we play UT 3 times in 3 1/2 weeks. Should things run to form, UT will finish 18-12 with their best win being against Miss St. Not sure that should get them in the tournament

UT scored 86 against Vandy, shot 53% from the field and 43% from 3. Their offense has been ON FIRE...except against us. Our Her Hoop Stat defensive rating is the same as last year. Ever since that poor defensive performance against Vandy, the team has been playing lights out defense. But good defensive performances never receive the same hype as offensive ones.

A lot of credit goes to Raven. Cardoso is a lock for all-SEC; Raven is our 2nd most deserving player.

During that stretch 55 ppg allowed and UGA had the best shooting percentage 37%.

Four candidates for all SEC pg Raven, Mama Dembele, Endiya Rogers, Lauren Park-Lane. All but Park-Lane will be candidates for all D team. Raven has the best TO to assist ratio, Rogers scores the most, Dembele is on a wretched team. A case can be made for all three.

Definitely. From reading the A&M board, the speculation is Rogers could be out until the SEC tournament. May hurt her chances at all-SEC honors. I guess you could add Jordyn Cambridge to that list.

They would get in. They would be 4th in the SEC at 10-6 and 18-12 overall. UT has never not been in the tourney and a 4th place SEC finish isnt the year it would happen. There will likely be 7 SEC teams make the tournament.

After rewatching the Georgia games, I have some thoughts:

* After the under 5 minute timeout, Georgia missed and Paopao hit a 3 to give us a 9 point lead. Coach Abe immediately called a time out, less than a minute after the TV timeout. It was a great timeout because Dawn took out Cardoso and the Bulldogs went on the run that led to their halftime lead. I suppose we can say DS took her foot off the gas, but I suspect Cardoso was on a minutes restriction.

* For the first time I can remember this season, coach played Cardoso and Kitts as a tandem. Perhaps she was concerned about leaving Nicholson out there with Watkins and only Kitts as help on defense and the boards. Unfortunately, Feagin wasn't much help defensively. Nicholson killed us with Cardoso off the court. Watching that SEC Network insider video on the Gamecocks, you can see how focused Feagin in. I'm rooting for her to do well. Yesterday just wasn't her day.

* I can just go ahead and give my preview of the Bama game. Bama has won 6 of 7 and they have the potential to hit a ton of 3's, HOWEVER they are smaller than Georgia. Sarah Ashlee Barker plays the 4 for them. Essence Cody is a bruiser at the 5, but she has trouble defending without fouling. She fouled out of the LSU game in just 13 minutes of play. Sooo, Cardoso should have her way with The Tide. The final score depends on how much playing time she gets.

I’m not so sure they get in the dance. At present they are 1-11 vs NET top 50 teams. That lone victory was against Miss st. Their top 5 victories for the season Miss st., Vandy X2, Ark, and Auburn. 7-1 vs teams 8-14 in conference is a thin resume.

Miss St has a weak schedule down the stretch. UT might be better off if State passes them and the Vols get an extra game at the SEC tournament. Of course, it would be best if Tennessee went at least 2-1 down the stretch, but that's a tall order.

They also beat Oklahoma who is ranked and leading the B12 conference, and traditionally teams at or above .500 in the SEC are in play for the tourney, and UT likely ends up about 10-6. Their SOS is ranked #3 and may end up #1 after they play SC and LSU soon. They are in.

Am I reading too much into Dawn’s tweet? Is a Cardinal(the NC Statebird)flying south? Or is Dawn just having fun?
Don't think it's any secret that the only remaining"birdie" on deck is Sarah. Dawn made a comment in her UCONN post game that she was hoping for a "welcome home" but not yet. As you know Sarah and her family was at the game and a "we want Sarah" chant broke out. Not a coincidence imho
