Didn’t she transfer before the season started? If not then she definitely didn’t get into a game. I know she didn’t stay a whole season

Oh, OK. I've seen video of her in a UCONN uniform, but it could have been an exhibition.

Portal season is so fun! Who would you want? They don’t have to be in portal yet but could be someone u could see jumping in.
A Wing to back up Breezy. Tessa could do it, but I would prefer to see her at guard and get a bigger wing player.

She played in 12 OOC games a total 30 minutes her Fr year at UConn 20-21 season. Transferred to Ark in mid season and sat out the rest of the year

This was a quote from her mom about her decision to leave UCONN “It’s been a conversation, and it’s not all basketball,” Amy Poffenbarger said, via the News Post. “The academic [side] wasn’t super-engaging, there wasn’t much to the campus life, and there wasn’t the ability to get out and meet a lot of people. Unfortunately that part of college life ... that part wasn’t happening for her.”

So she goes to Arkansas?

Clemson has had 5 players enter the portal, another 4 graduate leaving them only 4 players on their roster. Two of these four are Fr who played less than 30 minutes combined all season and scored 3 points.

Who would take this job?

I think it was when was COVID was limiting everything. So student athletes couldn't really interact with anybody or do anything in fear that a positive test could prevent them from playing for 2 weeks.

Some stats on the teams in our regional. Pay attention to offensive rebounding percentage. We are 8th in the nation; Ole Miss is 4th. The rest of the teams are mid to poor in that category. I think that's significant.

You are spot on with the vast majority of your posts but I am curious as to why you think that is a "significant" stat. Should we be concerned because we beat them by 29 in the regular season?

The point he is making, is don’t be surprised if OM knocks off ND. They are the best rebounding team in the regional by this metric. This is Especially significant with one of ND’s two bigs out with an injury. And looking ahead to if they play Oregon st after that…. Who is one of the worst if not the worst P5 teams in the tournament in ORB%. OM is going to be a tough out for the higher seeds on their end of the bracket

I picked OM to take out ND but have them losing to Oregon State in a game I believe will be closer than many think. OM could win that game also.

100%. I thought I might be an SEC Homer, but I saw Charlie Creme's bracket and he had Carolina and Ole Miss in his Elite Eight. We are the best 2 defensive teams and the best 2 rebounding teams in the region, so I think it's a possibility. Of course, I think we beat Ole Miss, if we face them. It will be a battle, though.

She will not start next season. She and Tessa will play more minutes but PaoPao, Raven and Brewzy are the started at 1-3. I don’t know who will back up Breezy at the 3 though, unless that is Edward’s role. We will have another legitimate 2+ deep roster of players who can start and contribute
I’m confident she will be a starter next season. Again, the lineup will be arranged to make it work. She is easily top 5 in her class which includes 2 first team AA’s and her production would rival anyone in her class if she played 34+ minutes a game like Watkins and Hidalgo. She would be in the running for AA honors next year as a starter…..you don’t sit that kind of player. As a side note, she has become an excellent defender and is a plus on that side of the ball now.

And no, she won’t get 34 minutes a game next year, but she will be a starter and get close to 30, Dawn knows she has a generational player here, and she will showcase her next season by unleashing her. The media attention she draws and will draw next season as a starter is a boon for the program and recruiting, She is the first female freshman to ever sign with Curry Brands for a reason and she is a national impact figure in WBB.

Ole Miss/ND is a fascinating matchup. Ole Miss has played without a point guard all season and now they have to face the top PG in the country. On the flip side, Notre Dame is paper thin in the post. ND will need a Herculean effort from Hidalgo.

For those of you wondering about McKenzie Holmes from IU, she is healthy. I have first hand info on this. IU can beat anybody when hitting their threes, and they were the leading three point team in the nation this season. SC will need to play well against the Hoosiers.

Some trivia here for those that may have forgotten, but in the 2019-2020 season when we had only one loss, it was to IU, and it wasn’t a very close game. I’m sure the coaches remember this well, it was Holme’s freshman season btw.

I watch all of the IU games because of a connection to Holmes, and they are the most dangerous team in our bracket imo, in spite of being the 4 seed. If we make it through our bracket I feel confident in saying this will be the toughest matchup.

🤗 check out my avatar. It is my grandfather’s IU Letter sweater from circa 1915. He and his brother played football and wrestled at IU. My mom went to IU. The avatar is sideways because I’m old and the site automatically turned the pic 90 degrees and I can’t figure out how to correct it.

Indiana gives me a little pause as well b/c of Holmes’s skill around the basket, their 3 pt shooting ability, & that 4 of their starting 5 are all seniors. However, besides Holmes, they don’t appear to have a lot of size down low (that plays), they don’t appear to go that deep off the bench, & this season, they don’t seem to play as well away from their home gym. If we meet, hopefully that last one, holds true for the game.

Yeah, they have 4 legit three point shooters, and when 3 or more are on they can light it up. Garzon plays the wing, but at 6’3 she is hard to defend on the perimeter. She is actually the same height as Holmes, though listed sometimes as 6’2. Scalia broke the 3 pt record for a season at IU this year, she can light it up. Sydney Parrish and McNeil can also drain 3’s.

Love Garzon’s game.
