I think officiating will go a long way. Our side of the bracket has been officiated pretty well so far. If it is called straight the. We should win. If it is called as inconsistently and horribly as other side of bracket has been called, then it will be a rough game.
I can’t wait to see who is recipient of the calls will be in Iowa and LSU game. They have gotten a lot of calls their way all tournament so far so will see who gets it more tomorrow night. Hate to say it but hope Iowa wins big because I am sick of LSU mouths and crap. Taunting UCLA when Reese fouled out should have been a tech with other two free throws and in close game could have been a game changer. However nothing called which made Close(ucla coach) lose her mind at end yesterday.

As long as they call it both ways, I'm OK with a quick whistle today. We definitely have an advantage in depth. This is even a game I'm alright with Walker playing, as long as she doesn't try any of those Nikola Jokic passes she tried against Tennessee. She just needs to stand between Beers and the basket. Beers is a poor free throw shooter, so fouling is not a bad outcome.

Oregon State should be another tough challenge. The Indiana scout might prove helpful for this game. They are an all around pretty solid team on both ends. They are pretty tall but they play at a slower pace that often takes advantage of the full shot clock. They are an overall young and inexperienced group and none of these players have played in the tournament with Oregon State before.

I believe Beers is better traditional big than Holmes and could be a challenge. She averages 17.5 pts and 10 rebounds in less than 28 minutes shooting at 66%. In games I watched over the season she does seems to get tired quite a bit so outrunning her and potentially getting her in foul trouble would be ideal. Notre Dame didn't make her work on the defensive end at all so she was able to catch her breath during the game. She played a career high minutes in a non-double OT game.

I agree with other posters, press them, get as many transition opportunities as possible, rebound, force contested shots on Oregon State, out run Beers and maker her work on the defensive end.

I saw some OSU posters talking about Beers' ability to establish defensive position against Cardoso. What they didn't mention was Cardoso' ability to run the court. Beers is going to have to transition in a hurry.

Kitts starting (concern about possible foul trouble for Watkins is my speculation as to why. One of the officials from the Utah game is working today. Not kidding)

TV talking head doesn’t know how to read a box score. Oregon State has made 11 field goals, not 11 3s

Our screen navigation and communication has to get better. Getting good practice for Iowa if we both get through.

I think Cardoso is holding the hedge on the on-ball screen a beat too long. PG doesn’t want to take it to the hole. They want to get Beers good position on a post-up.

Most important takeaway from that game: Dawn took out a SENIOR and put in FRESHMAN with the game on the line. Maybe a little later than I would have preferred but she made the tough call. Hopefully she will trust her young'ens in the Final Four.

So proud of this bench. Tessa, Watkins and Feagin really came out to play today. Tessa didn't let some airballs prevent her from continuing to shoot which was huge for us. Watkins was everywhere and made up for her sweet 16 performance. Feagin did a lot of damage and held her own with Kamilla out. Another year another final four who would have thought we would be hear after losing the freshies.

At this point two more “ugly wins” gets us another title, so who cares how close the final score is.

Agree brother DarkCock, but I do think we have enough talent on the bench to not let that halftime lead fall below 14 points! Honestly, I feel like our personnel combination decision is what brought life back to Indiana! It was almost like with certain combinations we were trying to give them the game, if we would just put Walker in at the 5!! If we couldn’t stop them, at least put personnel in that might match them point for point!! 🤔

Agreed, could have pulled Pao Pao much earlier!!! 🤷‍♂️

@DarkCock or @winloseortie is your best bet for that
They were outrebounded by 13 today, 7 against Stanford, and even against Tennessee. Their guards have been carrying them through the tournament. Our guards will be the best they faced, though (I thought Texas has a guard named "Shae Colley". I did a double take).

They have no depth in the post. When River Baldwin gets in foul trouble, they go small. Not really another option for them.

I hope Watkins continues her play from today. She is perfect for this game. She can switch on to their guards while still dominating inside.

They look mighty good. They're rolling. They're extremely dangerous.

To be fair, it’s the Final Four. Everyone is. Regardless of how we’ve looked the last couple games it would be foolish to think we couldn’t be beat. Especially after last season.

Now really, who thought that? NC State, like us, has reached this point contrary to all preseason expectations. But they are peaking at the perfect time. I'm not as certain about us, even though everyone but us will be carrying multiple losses. I've been nervous all the time. There are some things at stake which seem to register with me more than with many people.

NC State is quick and athletic but really only go about 6 deep. They may play around 7-8 but those last two only get 4-5 min each. If Baldwin gets in foul trouble the. They go very small. They move way quicker than any team we have played so far in this regional. They did lose twice to Va Tech who had Kitley who dominated. It would seem we have speed to match theirs, height they don’t have especially if they get Baldwin in foul trouble. We also have depth they don’t have.
we can beat them if we play like we did against NC by large margin but if we have our lulls we have had last few weeks they are quick enough to make us pay a lot more.
All things equal we beat them by 15-20 if we play a solid game.

Are you asking who thought we couldn’t be beat last season? Because I’ll be honest, I truly didn’t think it could happen due to our defense. I saw that defense make HVL look like she was a high school player and didn’t think we could get carved up the way we did.

I’m just saying 1-seed, 3-seed, or 12-seed it doesn’t matter who you’re playing in the Final Four. If they’re there they’re playing the best basketball of any four teams in the country so of course they’re dangerous.

NC State was 15-0 and ranked #2 at one point this season. Their "peak" was probably an 18 point victory over Colorado. They had several losses in conference, but have played well recently like you would expect from a team in the Final Four.

One would like to think so.
