Need to defend better than that to beat a decent team on the road. We couldn’t get stops when we needed them, and it really should have been an easier win for Indiana if they made their FTs.
Hey Coach…play better and you won’t have to worry about this rule!![]()

Exactly right. "Taking away experiences from student-arhletes" is laughable. Earn those experiences. Don't expect them to be handed to you.Hey Coach…play better and you won’t have to worry about this rule!
Last time I checked being ahead in the last :02 seconds were the only seconds that mattered!![]()

Agree… but it won’t happen…$$$$Honestly, I think they should pare it down to a twelve team tournament.
I think that 16 is the right number. 4 games on Wednesday just like Thursday and Friday. I said it at the time, but I have no idea how they landed on an odd number like 15.Honestly, I think they should pare it down to a twelve team tournament.
Year after year, we learn that results in close games are related a lot more to variance than coaching. How many games has Rhodes lost in the last 2 minutes of a close game. Too many. He is an awful coach in the closing minutes of a game. Awful.

I respectfully disagree. If 'variance' is a factor, one would assume it is somewhat random, thus PSU would win approximately one half of the close games. PSU won none of these. To not include 'coaching' has an explanatory variable is unwise.Year after year, we learn that results in close games are related a lot more to variance than coaching.
I guess confirmation bias plays into it too. We won “none” of our close games, yet Northwestern had the ball down 2 with under 5 seconds left, and Rutgers cut it to 3 with ~20 seconds left? What is considered a “close game” if those aren’t?I respectfully disagree. Last I saw we were #350 in KenPom's "luck" measure. On the surface that implies we have had bad luck. But what it really means is that we are significantly underperforming relative to what the in-season metrics imply.Year after year, we learn that results in close games are related a lot more to variance than coaching.
The luck rating is measuring your offensive/defensive efficiency vs your record…so it finds teams that are blowing people out and losing close games, vs those that win close games and get blown out.Last I saw we were #350 in KenPom's "luck" measure. Same thing happened under Chambers. The luck measure is the residual of actual vs. expected performance. It captures everything that cannot be specified in the model, including coaching and late-game decision making.
I often wonder how people today can even play pickup games of any sport without a coach there telling them how to play. It’s like every dumb play, turnover, or missed shot is the coach’s fault.Year after year, we learn that results in close games are related a lot more to variance than coaching.
I've been bitching about this for years. Do kids even play pickup baseball or bball any more? Little kids play t-ball and soccer from about 6 years of age and it's always supervised. Gotta have uniforms. Gotta have parents in attendance. Gotta have snacks after games. My generation played baseball every day in the summer. No coaches. No parents. No pressure. We also played league games, but that was nowhere near as supervised as it is now. Never heard a parent yell at a coach or umpire. That's my rant.I often wonder how people today can even play pickup games of any sport without a coach there telling them how to play. No pressure? My pickup games were pressure packed. But it was awesome fun.I've been bitching about this for years. Do kids even play pickup baseball or bball any more? None of the 5 have remaining eligibility, so they are all definitely gone. Are any of the 'seniors' planning on coming back next year? I know its early to declare for the portal but just wondering if anyone has hinted at their decisions.
I was thinking Puff and Dunn had one more but guess they actually were class of 2020 HS kidsNone of the 5 have remaining eligibility, so they are all definitely gone.
Puff and Ace were both 2020 and played their 5 years, including the 2020-2021 COVID year. Kern, Dunn, and Hicks were 2021, but played their 4 years so they are out of eligibility.I was thinking Puff and Dunn had one more but guess they actually were class of 2020 HS kids
