But strong wrists... short stick and strong wrists is that counterintuitive?Field hockey must be hell on one’s back. The stick is so short.
Depends on who you’re asking. But strong wrists... short stick and strong wrists is that counterintuitive?
wow, men's 1500m final, Cole Hocker of the USA with the upset win, and sets an Olympic record in the race. All the promos were about the battle between the returning Olympic gold medalist, Jakob Ingebrigtsen, from Norway, and Josh Kerr from Great Britain. Hocker takes 1st, Josh Kerr (GB) took 2nd, and Yared Nuguse from the USA took 3rd.
Gabby Thomas wins the women's 200m final. Brittany Brown of the USA took 3rd!! Julien Alfred, of St. Lucia, who won the women's 100m a few days ago, took 2nd.
I can’t get enough of Gabby Thomas. That girl is absolutely beautiful and is a fierce competitor as well.

nothing like an own goal in the Olympic semifinals. smh
- a bachelors in neurobiology from Harvard (and a masters in public health from Texas)
- 3rd in the 200m in the 2020 Olympics (held in 2021), missed most of 2022 due to a torn hamstring, 2nd in the 200m in the 2023 Worlds, 1st in the 200m in the 2024 Olympics
- very, very easy on the eyes
other than having a boyfriend, what's not to like?

Rowdy Gaines -- been entertaining as the color analyst for Olympic swimming for years.

Figures you beat me to it. I dont generally get the fury and venom towards the announcers but the swimming and track announcing have both been wonderful. Gaines had the one relay time exactly nailed, he’s that good.
And I’m usually oblivious to broadcasters. That Gaines has managed to break through my imperviousness says volumes. Most of the color analysts NBC uses are good. Gaines is exceptional. @LionJim commented in this thread about the prep that Gaines does. It's just amazing how much he analyzes the top splits each person in a relay has (in advance of the race), knows which swimmers are better closers at the end, etc. As a former gold medal winner for the USA in swimming, he's also a fan of USA swimming. He combines a pro-USA slant with great in-race or post-race analysis.
Women’s pole vault… holy sh*t! No paper towels, this is gonna get sloppy!!
When the announcer said, “you need to keep the pole moving forward”… I was done!I did not catch the prelims/qualifying but there were 19 to start in the finals instead of 12. You could see a huge gap between the top competitors and the rest. Some comical scratches once they jumped from 4.40 to 4.60m
USA's Katie Moon is guaranteed a medal.
