Interesting but I'm going with statistical anomaly.Thought provoking.

They played out of their minds defense in the Brewers series. You're an astute better, so I like your interpretation.
FWIW, it has been an absolute joy this season to be a Phillies fan. The team hasn't started a season this well since the 1993 season.
That said, I've always cautioned fans that a season is long, and most teams have ups and downs over the course of the season. In that context, it's hard not to wonder when things will go south for a long stretch for the Phillies. Kruker said the other night on the postgame that with the pitching and defense this team has, he doesn't seem any long losing streaks for the Fightins, even if the offense goes in a funk. Is he right, only time will tell.

If there is any takeaway from that stat, it's 'why weren't the Phils more successful in those years where they did so well in the regular season?'. Could be just bad luck, but I've long wondered if the Philly fans put too much pressure on their teams, resulting in a tendency to crumble (1964?). I hope we all learned from the Trea Turner party last year that it's better to lift a guy up than to boo him. You're an astute better, so I like your interpretation.

If you click on it, this is a thread detailing the plane they flew over on. Pretty nice.
That's a way better idea.Flying to London for two games is a lot in my eyes. Shoot if you’re gonna do it, I’d rather they send 3-4 teams over and they play each other for a week or so.

I’m also scared that this trip is gonna mess up their rhythm. I’m worried they come back and stink for a week or two. Red Sox and Orioles on the road next week.

look what we have here
Love the Phillies but they have arrived here by beating a bunch of nobodies. Their stat against teams with an over .500 record is like 4 and 2.

No issue. The stat indicates they have played very few teams to date with a record over .500. They did blast the Brewers. Personally I think their record will remain on the pace it’s on. It’s an interesting stat MLB provides in their standings. To date, the Phillies have played fewer quality teams than any other team.So they’re beating who they’re supposed to beat. Handily. What’s the issue?
Tread lightly my friend. No issue. The stat indicates they have played very few teams to date with a record over .500. They did blast the Brewers. If you look at teams that would be .500 or higher if not for playing the Phillies, then it’s like 18-6 or something. No issue. For context, at the moment only 4 of the 15 National League teams have a winning record. No issue. The stat indicates they have played very few teams to date with a record over .500.
