Honestly, the Phils look like a team that has hit a wall mentally and physically. I think back to back deep post season runs has caught up to them a bit. I’m not saying they won’t rebound. They are way too talented to fold, but they look spent. Topper has to find a way to spark them again.
They've done this in recent years, but always come back. No reason to think they won't do it again. They'll be fine.

Yeah worst run scoring especially for them, , 4-0 bottom of second two homers and Phillips is tossing batting practice. Oh yeah, Harper struck out his first at bat.
And now Phillips gives up a grand slam, 8-0 2nd inning.

Phillies will be in third place at the end of this road trip. Mark it down. Potential for an 0-10 road trip here and firing Thomson.

Welp went to be and woke to find another loss.
my prediction holding so far for an 0-10 road trip. This team is dead in the water right now, tired mentally and physically and pitching has crashed and burned all over the place all at the same time.

Seems like 4 different setup men have blown 3+ run leads the past two weeks after not having it happen all season. Really strange turn of events.

On a side note, before the All-Star break seemed like the offense was focusing on putting the ball in play and going with the pitch. Now it's back to the messed up approach of the past 2 seasons.

Well, my prediction is now shot, they won a game.
Let’s have a reverse and win the next 7!

Nola was a little sloppy, and their bats were too inconsistent (they got the leadoff batter on in the top of the 9th, and then 3 straight pop-ups).

This at bat was the turning point of the game

that inning, and that at bat, were critical. Strahm relieved Sanchez in the bottom of the 7th, with 2 on and no out. Strahm got Ahmed to pop out, and struck out Kiermaier. Ohtani is such a good hitter that it still didn't look promising for the Fightins. Strahm got him to fly out, which really was huge.
