Honestly, I have no idea how ranger will fare. I'm just trying to inject some optimism in the sea of despair that this thread has become.

The Fightins had a number of injuries in September. I thought a bye would benefit them. Hopefully, they figure things out today.
Doing good so far, bases loaded every inning. It's like magic.

Phils are allergic to getting the run home from 3rd with less than 2 outs.
This team just strikes out too much - I don’t care where they finished in regular season - too many non-contact at bats with guys on base

Hoffman having an inauspicious start to the bottom of the 6th. Single, wild pitch, hit a batter. Nobody out for the Mets.
Edit: another wild pitch makes it 2nd & 3rd with no out for the Mets.
Edit: And then a walk to load the bases ... still no out for the Mets.
Edit: Grounder to SS with the infield in, and Turner throws out a Met at home. Topper is headed out to replace Hoffman, and he brings in Estevez. Still bases loaded, now 1 out, and Fightins with a 1-0 lead.

What in the world happened to Hoffman? Is he the new Kimbrel? He’s going to blow two good starts in this series.
It’s really unbelievable - pitchers know they don’t have to throw a strike to get them out.
Might have been better going for the double play and letting the tieing run score. Could have walker Lindor and pitched to someone else.
BTW, why did Estevez have to throw 26 pitches in the 8th inning last night trailing 6-2?

I don’t get playing 162 games then having short best of 3’s and best of 5’s.
Phils get 2 on in the top of the 9th, but can't plate them, as Scwarber strikes out for the final out.
