This is big.
It takes the sting off of losing the DE that decommitted and went to Florida. PSU gets a DE that has experience in the college game at a big program and knows what it takes physically and mentally to be prepared. If his injury is 100% behind him, he should be ready to step on the field day 1.

PSU hosted him. As I mentioned earlier in the thread after his visit, "There are reasons this may work out well for us, and also reasons (concerns you could figure out based on past history) where it may not work out well for us."

There were rumors that Zollers got $1 million and a car in NIL. If true, what did Beau get as an experienced college QB?

Well we're not getting Blay or Alexander. So far this portal sucks for us this season.
PSU will not make a splash in the portal under this regime. The emphasis is on recruiting talent and "fit."
Once a player is here and produces, the majority of NIL resources are dedicated to retaining the quality individuals that you recruited and developed.
The portal will be used like "seasonings" that you sprinkle on the main course of your meal.
PSU will not throw a bag of money at anyone in the portal and risk tilting the locker room.
Now if a DT or WR wanted to come here for (say preference for a position coach, geographic location, scheme and opportunity to see the field)....and an NIL deal that would be in sync with what the guys on the roster are getting.....that would work.
Bear and company are going for the bag. Good for them. I wonder how that plays out when the chips are down? I think we know, deep down.

A box of Newport’s and Puma sweats
Just saw something that said he was offered $1.5 million in the portal. It didn’t specify from who, but you can guess that Missouri couldn’t have been that far off if it wasn’t them.

Edit. I didn’t realize it was also posted above.

I was making tongue in cheek using a 90s pop culture reference

Regardless, why is he content to sit behind Ewers?
yea - he needs and wants to play. you have 2 x 5* QBs in row and if you want to keep both, the older one needs to be moving to the NFL in 3 years to keep things moving. if you get a QB staying 4/5 years you will lose the room immediately underneath that QB, so when he does leave you will be young with who is left. nobody is waiting till they have 1-2 years left to play unless no choice.

for Beau to mentor Zollers seems like he will have to win the starting job. This looks like a competition for starting position. Cook had a backup there also, and not sure where he stands.

Mizzou now has two of PAs top QBs over the last few years. At least we are not playing against them so that is good. would have been a bummer if we were playing against Beau in the BIg.
