Yes Clawson has done a good job at a well-respected academic school. And Doeren has done well at NC State. As I recall, they both had prior success at other schools. We can't just go out and get anyone we want from another P5 school. But these two would be gettable IF Beamer does not work out. Some of our fans probably would not be pleased. But as I said, they would be solid hires.

eek, Clawson is 30-47 in the ACC. As much as our fans gloat about the ease of going through the SEC, I can't imagine the response if we hired a guy who had a losing ACC record.
As I said, our fans would not be turning flips over the hire. But he would be a solid hire at a school that's not easy to recruit at. And I've been at their stadium, at a Paul McCartney concert last year. The stadium is OK, nothing to attract recruits. Harvard Gamecock is right when he says Clawson won't be there in 2 years.
