Jimmy has been trying to self destruct for a while. Kim pretending all of these years and jimmy calling set her off? The wife of Howard only cared about herself and because of the way he “killed” himself her reputation suffered. Maybe if she was caring towards him he would not have showed up at there house. Again, maybe gene planned it to get caught. He bought her the laptop. When he said to her “Albuquerque” over the phone I was like why would you say that. But Jimmy knows what he is doing. She looked him up.
Gene didn't buy the laptop, Jeffie did, but yea Gene was cool showing her how to use it, leading to his demise. He is normally super careful, and I'm not sure if it was intentional or if he just underestimated Marion.

Kim's acting is incredible. The scene on the bus was expertly done. Glad she came back into the fold

It’s impossible for me to fall asleep after watching BCS, the way my mind races. I’ll catch it tomorrow. Don’t worry about spoilers; I’m disciplined enough. Enjoy. We’ll be digging down deep soon enough.
I slept like a baby, lulled to sleep by problems in complex analysis.

My son sent me a text this AM: The cancer patient had $737,000 in his account. That's the exact amount Walt figured he needed in the 1st episode of BB.

He's getting a relative bargain with the lack of inflation.

So if Jimmy gets caught does he open practice in jail, kinda like Andy in Shawshank but only legal? What would that sequel be called .

Whoever called Carol Burnett finding Saul's commercial on the internet, well done! (I'm too lazy to go back and give proper credit.)
He bought her the laptop. When he said to her “Albuquerque” over the phone I was like why would you say that. But Jimmy knows what he is doing. She looked him up.
Jimmy did not buy the laptop. Her son did, which appeared to upset Gene.

Jeffie, Marion and Jeeves take down Saul. In reality he was his own undoing. He turned into a big prick once Kim left him. She was the “Jimmy” anchor. My son remarked that one of the most disturbing scenes was the creepy dude banging Kim and muttering “yep”. Now how will it end? Suicide by cop? Vacuum cleaner guy? Or just an arrest and jail? Will Kim see him again?

Me, I think that Saul will just go to jail. I don't think he has it in him to do either suicide or death by cop. Neither seems right for the character. I also can't see them let him get away. It makes the whole BCS series worthless if he just fades out into some other reality.

In BB Saul told Walter to turn himself in. And just now in BCS Kim tells him to turn himself in. No way will Ed the Cleaner take a call from Gene, now. One would say, yes, somehow the cops get ahold of him, but it wouldn’t be immediate. He’ll try one more risky play. Also, the wild card is that Saul is now publicity implicated in the death of the unfortunate Mr. Hamlin, and just because he had to call Kim. His face is out there and for sure the logistics of the Cancer Man scam are going alert his previous marks.

My one sure prediction: However it plays out, we’ll be seeing Saul, not Jimmy or Gene. That said, we did see Jimmy at the very end of the episode.

Well, we do know that something happens with law enforcement from the earlier episode with agents taking stuff out of Saul’s house. The bittersweet moment will occur in the final episode that ties the Zafiro bottle top he kept that tumbled out of the dresser. In that light, Kim is still in play in the final episode, IMO. Almost like a Citizen Kane “Rosebud” scene.
‘The last episode is titled “Saul Gone”. Literal interpretation, figurative interpretation,”it’s all gone”.

We know Saul’s cash flow is significantly impacted from his conversation with Francesca. Also impacts his ability to ‘disappear” again. The rusted out Esteem in the desert gulley will have some impact here too from the episode 13 bumper.

The cleaning out of Saul’s mansion: Has the location of this event in the BB-BCS timeline been established? I had presumed that the cleaning out took place shortly after Hank and Steve are presumed dead, about the time Gene started at Cinnabon.

Yeah, probably happened in 2004. Current timeline is 2010.

For some reason I thought you might be bringing up the possibility that the cleaning up happened just now, after Marion narced. Never mind.

On Talking Saul, Odenkirk's take was essentially that Saul is intentionally self destructing and compared it to Leaving Las Vegas. Basically, he got bored and decided to go out doing what he loves.
Will Kim help take him down?

Jesse is really the only main character who has made it to the end alive and arguably the only main character with a true sense of virtue (Mike kind of, but not really).

I’m thinking Saul is dead at the end, by his own hand.

So what are some guesses for the final song to end the series (and the greater BB universe)?

I’ll throw the Johnny Cash cover of Hurt out there.

Someone (Dan?) guessed Lawyers Guns and Money, which may be a little obvious, but pretty fitting.

I had assumed this whole ruse with Jeffie was so that he could build up a reserve to move on again, but with Marion calling the cops on him, he's got to get back to his apartment quickly to get his cash...does he risk that? I think he does. His only chance for continued existence is either in jail or in another country. Does he try to replicate his walk through the desert to cross into Mexico?

Jimmy screwed up with the " in Albuquerque you need a bail bondsman , in Nebraska you don't " raised eyebrows on Marion. Thought he was going to strangle Marion , at least tie her up, but the son has a record in NM and has to rat out Saul.

Kim never changed her name too easy to follow, and her loneliness, along with the suburban lifestyle festered guilt over the years .

Saul got cocky with the mall heists which made him more greedy and seemingly invincible. The cab was there, but i thought for a second he wanted to make it look like a smash and grab, he had the getaway but blew it.

Both Jimmy and Kim need each other in a twisted way, and slowly dissolve without one another.

Holy schnikes! I never actually heard what was going on in last night’s bumper for the finale. Rusted Esteem and Saul out of breath repeating the vacuum cleaning guy’s code!!

I was surprised by how definitively Jimmy turned against Kim. I don't remember him ever taking such a hard line against her before, and she was clearly justified in being shell shocked, even though Howard’s death and their predicament was just as much or even more her fault. At Howard’s funeral she was even more brutal than Jimmy, and Jimmy was clearly holding out hope at making the marriage work. I think Jimmy being extremely hurt, as opposed to turning angry and bitter, would have worked a bit better.

Kim still timid after ~6 years? Seemed odd. They didn't show that side of her before she left, and she was at her most vulnerable at that point. I think if they would have edited it to be Kim more unsure of herself after the phone call than before I think it would have played better, at least for me. Her having a come to Jesus moment after talking with Jimmy seemed fine otherwise.

I still think Carol Burnett was extremely under used. I preferred her prickly initial introduction, and could have leaned on that a little more these last few episodes while still showing Jimmy winning her over. I really, really miss the original Jeff - he had gravitas and menace on the screen.

Even though I'm clearly not a huge fan of the final episodes I still think they are pretty good, just not up to par with the show's previous efforts, and also feeling a little rushed. Maybe it's just hard for me to get a good feel for the new characters when they haven't had a chance to marinate and surprise over a season or more.

Still, this is the best TV show I've ever watched, and I am truly going to miss it. Can't wait for the finale.
