Jan’s would have to win big here to get a real blue blood to hire him away, final four etc.. all the other offers/moves would just be parallel moves. basketball programs aren’t on the same parallel as footbll programs.

I think this top 5 class is gonna keep him here a few more years. If he can being this level of talent to Starkville I see no reason for him to leave short of a huge raise. He will have it cooking before long

Instead of leaving for a blue blood he might just make State into a blue blood. Nice recruiting class
What blue blood is needing him soon?

DUKE who has a coach in his 30s, is an alum, and recuirts great with great results?
UK who just hired a coach this season, is ranked, and just beat #2 Duke?
KU who is rolling along as good as always?
UNC who won the ACC last season, made the sweet16, and is a top 10 team right now?
UCONN who has won the last 2 ncaa tournaments?
GONZAGA who Ana to have yet another dominant season for like the 25th in a row?

I guess you could include ucla as a blue blood, but I mean, come on now. They live off their history more than Ole Miss. Either way, Cronin isn't going anywhere.

IU, Michigan State, and Nova are often called blue bloods...but again, come on now.
Michigan State has the most legitimate claim of them and that job is Izzo's until death.
Nova was great under a specific coach. IU is trying to imitate UCLA on history

Jans isn't going to a blue blood any time soon. Likely nobody is going to a blue blood soon since there isnt a known need.

Jans is Stansburry 2.0. And I mean that as a compliment. I was a huge Stans fan and never wanted him fired. But to me Jans is Stans 2.0. He may leave for a parallel school or he may stay here 10-12 years and then get fired.

He's got to be able to keep "this level of talent in Starkville" for it to do any good though

If we let him leave over money then that is a failure on the AD. We should be out front of that and pay him enough that it scares off all suitors.
