Can Allar and this team get us a Big Ten Title this year?

That's a ridiculous hypothetical. If PSU ends with 1 loss (a competitive loss to OSU, at that), as was suggested, they're clearly in the sure-thing invitees grouping, not battling it out with a bunch of schools for the final spot. We'd likely be much closer to #5 than potentially out of the playoff, and you'd be looking for excuses as to why we shouldn't credit Franklin.
Yes, it would be very difficult for scUM to be ranked significantly above a one loss PSU (with that one loss being to O$U, as suggested). I know scUM and PSU do not play this year.

It wouldn’t shock me if they could get there. But, I think we lose at least two - OSU and USC. I also think it’s going to be tough for anyone to run the table in conference so who knows - stay healthy and hope the new coordinators are an upgrade (on offense anyway). It should be a really fun season to watch - elimination of divisions and new blood will make for a very unpredictable year I think.
+1, think this is a very fair take. USC, because of the travel, is going to be more of an issue than many think.

Five conference champs (B1G/SEC/ACC/Big 12/?), and then next highest ranked seven teams. Let's pretend:

B1G - OSU
SEC - Georgia
ACC - Clemson
Big 12 - Utah
Group of 5 - Memphis

Then let's say:

Notre Dame
Alabama
Michigan
Oregon
Florida State
LSU

That would leave one spot available for the likes of PSU, Texas, Ole Miss, A&M, Miami, Missouri, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Washington State, Oregon State, etc.
Would not pencil in scUM, or LSU so quickly. But it still leaves 3 spots for the likes of: PSU, scUM, LSU, Texas, TAMU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, etc… in any case, not an easy road, even going 10-2… We likely need to go 11-1 to get in.
