His mother in law passed very recently. Relax.Or it could be as simple as the guy was late every day for the staff meeting. It could be he was hung over every morning. Probably had nothing to do w on the field stuff

Air Force WR's coach??? They have WR's???The hiring of Stubblefield, back in 2020, was very "curious".
When hired by PSU, Stubblefield had a long history of mostly "one and done" stops, at less-than-elite programs, with no promotions, and productivity out of the various WR groups at each stop not showing improvement.
Obviously, given the long history of one-and-dones, there was no track record vav recruiting either (and, if one recalls, his recruiting bit at PSU got off to a very rocky start - and didn't appear to ever gain any momentum).
With all the money PSU is spending on staffing, I was a bit surprised when he was hired - but certainly not surprised now.
As a coach:
- Central Washington (2007)
Wide receivers coach- Eastern Michigan (2008)
Graduate assistant Wide receivers coach- Illinois State (2009–2010)
Wide receivers coach- Central Michigan (2011)
Wide receivers coach- New Mexico (2012)
Wide receivers coach- Wake Forest (2013)
Wide receivers coach- Utah (2014–2015)
Wide receivers coach- Toronto Argonauts (2016)
Wide receivers coach- Air Force (2017–2018)
Wide receivers coach- Miami (FL) (2019)
Wide receivers coach- Penn State (2020–present)
Wide receivers coach
I don't understand? I thought the receivers improved under his tutelage. Might be a recruiting issue as PSU was not able to draw in top tier HS wide receivers.
Not only that but why would he leave San Diego and the nfl for state college? And even when the wr position was open prior, when Franklin would’ve had an opportunity to hire him, he didn’t.“Co OC” isn’t a real promotion. Titles like that are tossed around a lot. He wasn’t calling the plays. But my point is this guy isn’t some sort of Franklin loyalist.
His decision might be nothing more than a belief that stubblefield was not the coach to get PSU offense to the next level. Who knows?? only franklin!I see now that is was CJF’s decision.
It could very well be that....but in combination with that "upgrade" becoming available. James isn't going fishing today. His decision might be nothing more than a belief that stubblefield was not the coach to get PSU offense to the next level. Who knows?? only franklin!
When’s the last time he coached? More importantly, when’s the last time he recruited, especially in the NIL/portal era?Kenny Jackson lives In State College. They could do worse. Seems like a good fit if he wants the job.
If I recall correctly, Kenny was not that great of a coach. Plus, he has not coached in years and owns some restaurants in Harrisburg with Blair Thomas - so it's not like he has been doing any recruiting or coaching. I also seem to recall Kenny being the coach Joe was discussing about losing to the NFL, prompint McQ to visit Joe and Joe telling him something along the lines of "I don't have a job for you yet".....and then McQ went into the Sandusky scenario.Kenny Jackson lives In State College. more likely Calvin Lowry than KennyIf I recall correctly, Kenny was not that great of a coach. Who are you referring to?Let it go. Some people need to use an anonymous message board to make themselves feel better. Notice he never provides facts, nor does he have actual knowledge of this (or any other) situation. He simply throws our caustic comments to get people to bite and then proceeds to attack them for engaging. Same story different day.
I think .... all of us....Who are you referring to?
Why Calvin Lowry? That would be a step backwards relative to Stubbs. The defense has gotten better. The offensive line has finally improved, the running back room, the TE room has all improved. QB play (Clifford) improved towards the end of the season, and looks to be promising (at least on paper) with Allar. The WR room, while talented has not stepped up. Especially in a division where you have Ohio State.more likely Calvin Lowry than Kenny
Can you read? My response was Lowry more likely than Kenny Jackson. Slow up on the ☕️. It doesn't mean squat what you or I think. I really give 2 craps who James hires. Why Calvin Lowry? I don't think Lowry makes the WR room better than what Stubblefield has already done with it.

"Steadily improving the coaching" means the people you are replacing were mistakes. The way I see it JF has been steadily improving the coaching like he said he was going to do whenever possible he would look to upgrade the coaching. Trautwein > Limegrover, Yurcich > Cirarocca, Diaz > Pry (Albeit Pry left on his own) .... My thinking if JF has someone in mind for the WR coaching and probably a stout recruiter as well. I am letting this play out before making any decisions he has earned that much IMHO by his recent coaching hires.
Could be... If you own a Porsche 911 and buy a 911 Turbo was buying the 911 a mistake? For me not necessarily, at the time you thought it was a excellent car and the best available. Now a Turbo edition is available so you upgrade. Just how I look at it, we probably see it differently."Steadily improving the coaching" means the people you are replacing were mistakes.
Except that in the case of a coach it's a person who can learn, adapt, and adjust while an inanimate object can't.Could be... Grimreaper's view is my vote. Franklins post game comments when he described the difference between great and elite is insightful. PSU should never struggle as they have with the portal this post-season at WR. We have the livest arm in the country next year who will be throwing for an offense that upgraded their scoring by a touchdown year-on-year with a QB that kept both teams in the game. It should have been the easiest sell in the world to get any of the top 3 WRs signed by Jan 9. Stubb's wasn't horrible but just not where we can go the next two years."Steadily improving the coaching" means the people you are replacing were mistakes.

All the way to the bank.Franklin laughs at mistakes.
Relax Sandy's got this....Franklin laughs at mistakes.

No it doesn’t. It can certainly mean others become available that are better or talent outside the program has developed."Steadily improving the coaching" means the people you are replacing were mistakes.
Hey, I thought one of the new rules was NO POLITICS.They did. They ran really crisp routes.
This departure is a head scratcher but Fraudklin always need a sacrificial asst coach to either (a) atone for underperformance or (b) provide hype for becoming “elite”
He also (c) likes to surround himself with sycophants.
Boys, boys, please stop making each other look like a …Only you, ex-gym teacher/failed football coach, would discredit the effort by PSU’s WR’s in the Rose Bowl.
It’s like Franklin knows something that we don’t know. The timing of this just seems really off to me.
Things that make you go, "hmmm..."
Were you born a clown or did you just perfect over your lifetime? They did. They ran really crisp routes.

So others developed at a faster rate than the one you chose. That makes the one you chose a mistake. No it doesn’t. It can certainly mean others become available that are better or talent outside the program has developed.
No it means you need to be loyal no matter what an never want to progress. Keeping with the status quo is way easier to do after a good year. Saying this year or this position can take it a step further is viewed by Franklin's detractors as a bad thing. In other words these old boohoos will find any GD reason to back their points. Maybe they should stick to critiquing AD's or crying about the salaries. No it doesn’t. It can certainly mean others become available that are better or talent outside the program has developed.

I don't recall anyone saying that a coach had to stick with a mistake, at least I didn't. I've made a hiring mistake or two in my time, but I'm not "fiercely loyal."No it means you need to be loyal no matter what an never want to progress.
