That is because it's phony BS fake internet outrage because they don't like him. It's nothing more than that at all and it silly transparent. It's funny watching some here do their mental gymnastics on this BS when you see it with anything he does they don't remotely care for. The funniest one are the kooks that bring up his salary every time. They sound like little jealous children.
My favorite is the old "he's disinterested or doesn't care because his arms are crossed" on the sidelines

like this guy for example

No but my current employer doesnt tell everyone how much he loves everyone and how big a family we are and how much being that family means
Perhaps the answer lies in the nature or type of commitment Franklin makes to recruits and their families. Staff relationships are contractual.

Just idle speculation but I'm wondering if Yurcich might have had a hand in this. Over a beer Yurcich posits to Franklin that I have a 5 star QB and not enough 4 star receivers to take you to the next level. Who knows what the dynamics between Yurcich and Stubbs were. I could be way off base but its something to ponder.
Certainly would not happen without MY's input.

Well PSU landed another WR via FSU Malik McClain. So do they all know something that hasn't been announced yet? I would think so, not sure I would commit to PSU until I knew who the new WR coach is....

I wasn't a fan when JF hired him--as I looked at his priors and said 1 and done guy...

I think its Lack of Recruiting high profile guys. Lets be real the second most "Prima Donna" "Ego" driven position to QB is probably WR in todays game...thus they need a big name coach or a NFL established pipeline to grasp towards IMHO...

Also, yes I am sure MY is limited in his play calling--you can't have your Y receiver run a crossing route if he isnt a Legit 4.3 guy-let alone running the 9 route to clear out things underneath. Yes running routes is imperative-catching the same but combine those attributes with legit 4.3 speed and u have an entirely different offense. Playbook Open against anyone.

Putting 3 TEs on the field was by necessity and then came design. It definitely limited the opportunity to stretch the defense vertically. Imagine Singleton with 1 less defender near the ball.

My initial thoughts on this were:
  • He does have a record of not staying anywhere for a long time. Maybe Franklin caught wind of him interviewing elsewhere, didn't like that lack of commitment, and fired him. Granted, if he was interviewing for a promotion, I doubt he gets fired as Franklin has a record of supporting guys if they are moving on in better positions so maybe he was interviewing for WR coach at another Big10 school?
  • Him being recruiting coordinator could have been the bigger issue over WR issues.
  • I found his statement about losing his father-in-law within the larger statement as odd. He could have thanked the "community for all their love and support" and ended it as that. Maybe I'm just a negative person but it felt like it was put in to garner the reaction some of you have (oh his father-in-law died and then you fire him--that's cold).

No, it is you who needs one. I'm fine. James doesn't need to consult with or explain to me his staff decisions.
I've got one. The man is a football coach, nothing more, nothing less. And like the vast majority of football coaches, he'll do what he needs to do to win games and that applies to everyone.

Not surprising to see those who come out to excuse the indefensible.

Stubblefield put the info in his statement for a reason. It was an obvious dig at another man who loves to spew BS about his program being “family”.

I can’t blame Coach S in the least. Two faced frauds are tough to deal with.

My father lost his job when he came back from a trip out of town to attend the funeral of his mother.
So, perhaps that answers your question.

It must have sucked when you came to the realization that CJF is more successful than yourself at life in general.

Hold on there Footlong. Every coach in America preaches “family” ad nauseam. Every recruit video when a kid commits talks about how he feels he’s joining a family. It’s horse sh&t but it sells. Franklin just sells the nonsense better than most people. Now I’ll ask you a question. Name me a college or pro coach who doesn’t preach family and doesn’t constantly over recruit his existing football family members, including all his assistants. And I’ll show you a soon to be unemployed loser.

I’m sorry Stubblefield lost a family member. I’m sorry for his family that now has to relocate. The thing is he’ll find another well paying coaching position and move on with his life. Unfortunately, you’ll still be whining and crying about how the real cutthroat World of college football operates. Go back and read your Christmas Thread, be happy and lighten up.

Cause and effect? IDK but PSU lost its WR coach and then landed 2 quality WR transfers. Sometimes the situation doesn't fit for all and change is best.

Shhhh, some people haven't caught on to this yet. Next thing you're going to do is tell them Santa isn't real.

Well, Stubs didn't exactly fall upward this time. AF had the least most pass attempts in the country last season. I guess being a WR coach at an institution that throws the ball 87 times A SEASON is easy money.

I couldn't help but notice in the latest BWI issue on the new class that Stubblefield was only mentioned once as being a recruiter on an incoming frosh.
