What the Academy couldn't physically do to The Smiths during the ceremony, will be done behind the scenes as they end their careers in Hollywood by Blacklisting them.

Poor Amy Shumer, that's actually a pretty good joke.

As her set continued, Amy went on to tell Oscars jokes she allegedly wasn't allowed to say on TV, including this one: “Don’t Look Up is the name of a movie? More like don’t look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun. I wasn’t allowed to say any of that [at the Oscars], but you can just come up and [slap] someone.”

You posted in all bold. It was a joke. Yeah, I'm the one that's triggered FFS. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I copied and pasted the funny part from the article, and after a rudimentary attempt to remove the formatting concluded it wasn't worth additional effort. I guess not.

Nothing is funnier than someone getting fatally shot.

Will Smith will be Kobe Bryant in a new bio pic in the next few years, and all will be forgiven

Who cares. Rich people problems. They’ll work it out when it’s financially beneficial for both.

Apparently you care or else you wouldn't have taken the time to read the thread and post.

I am not going to defend Will Smith, but it can be argued that Chris Rock crossed a line. Smith’s wife is losing her hair due to an autoimmune disorder. It isn’t by choice.
Uh actually you are implicitly defending Will Smith.

Chris Rock deserved what he got. Chappelle needs a smackdown next. Dudes say whatever they want, and then expect people to sit there and take it. Nahhhh, not happening.
The best comics are able to give a voice to the social observations we all tend to avoid making even though they’re blatantly obvious to anyone with a pair of functioning eyes. Whether he knew about her condition or not is irrelevant…she lives a very public life and doesn’t seem to mind that the world knows about a lot of her very intimate details. This makes her open game (IMO) for the sort of far less invasive social commentary that Rock - who is one of the best at his craft - made.

My biggest issue with that continues to be that he slapped him in an extremely over-dramatic fashion. As soft as slapping somebody is, he made it somehow look even softer.

Agreed. The “it was staged” argument holds a lot of valid points. Regardless, it isn’t Rock’s job to desensitize anyone who is offended (feigned or otherwise) by his material. Everybody in the room was an adult, yet several refused to act like one.
