You mean the team that lost its starting QB 4 plays into the season and has clawed their way back to .500? I’m not even remotely a Jets fan. I’m a diehard Steelers fan, but that Jets team has some resilience and moxie. You gotta give Wilson some respect also. Everyone wanted to bury him and the team after 2 weeks. The defense is very good also.Yea don’t give the jets any credit
Good point. The Jets secondary had a lot of injuries too. But their defense definitely stepped up.You mean the team that lost its starting QB 4 plays into the season and has clawed their way back to .500? I’m not even remotely a Jets fan. I hate to see anyone get hurt but the Eagles had the fewest injuries in the NFL last year. Unfortunately the odds are that good fortune would not last.First time the Jets have ever defeated the Birds.
Hard to believe they lost this game, but between injuries and underperforming, they deserved to lose.
The Jets get credit, sure. But the story is Philly committing 4 turnovers and missing a late FG. Philly is clearly the better team, but made ALL the mistakes today. That doesn’t happen often in the NFL. Heck, Wilson had a couple of ints dropped in that game. Who knows if 1-2 turnovers go the other way?Yea don’t give the jets any credit
Their play calling has been crap all season. What we don’t know is whether that’s Johnson or Hurts (due to RPOs).Yep. I thought the Eagles’ arrogance was on full display today starting with going for it on 4th and goal from the 3 early in the game. They scored but their play calling as you point out made no sense.
Todays game was last years Washington victory over Philly to a T. I don’t think the Jets are a playoff team with Wilson. They have a very good defense that came through today. Philly’s 4 turnovers and missed FG were somewhat unlucky. Fumbles are pretty random in the NFL and the first Hurts int on the Goedert drop was also pretty random. And Elliott missing a chip shot is way out of the ordinary. You mean the team that lost its starting QB 4 plays into the season and has clawed their way back to .500? I’m not even remotely a Jets fan. '72 Dolphins you mean.
And they are definitely laughing.
Interesting crossroads now, Tom. But these next 7 games are really tough. I felt they really had to be 6-0 to have a shot at a similar record to last year.4th & 8, and Hurts throws it to DeVonte in triple coverage. To nobody's surprise, it is incomplete. Jets take over on downs.
Birds will lose, and they deserve to lose this game.
I never said the Jets were a playoff team, but they are a scrappy bunch. I think discounting the turnovers as unlucky takes away credit from a very good defense that had some say in the matter.Todays game was last years Washington victory over Philly to a T. The Jets D played well today and made all the plays that were there. The Eagles D just couldn’t stop them that 5/6th time. Think about getting 4 turnovers and the chances the Jets had and only scoring 20 points at home. You don’t win many games that way.
For winning the game or for banging his mom's MILF best friend? You gotta give Wilson some respect also.
I am not discounting all of the turnovers. I think the last two Hurts interceptions resulted from DL pressure. But the fumble and the Goedert pass breakup/int were lucky. And the Eagles missed a couple similar turnover chances by their defense.I never said the Jets were a playoff team, but they are a scrappy bunch. Seems vaguely familiar. The RB should NOT have scored. If he stops in the field of play Eagles have to burn remaining timeouts and Jets kick FG with virtually no time left.
Yeah, a stupid loss.I woke up this AM still pissed off about that game
Fire Siriani
I was disappointed that they lost because my expectation was that they would win.I woke up this AM still pissed off about that game

if you compare the back up tackles the rest of the league has to use, Driscoll is a God send.Yeah that's my take as well. The Jets were up all game and the Eagles were flat all game. Both teams had injuries coming in so that's a non-issue. The big in-game injury that really made a difference was losing Lane early in the game and trying to replace him with Driscoll. Driscoll is capable for 2-3 series but an entire game, against a legit... LEGIT front-7 is disaster. Hurts was under duress most of the day. If Lane isn't back next week I imagine a week to work together will help Driscoll and Opeta but man.... that was huge. I think that's what played into Hurts last int. he had happy feet and threw that pass off his back foot. battered spouse syndrome.
I was thinking about that. Seemingly, no one could score yesterday. Are there any good teams in the NFL? Some folks will say parity, but the Iggles lose to the Jets in an ugly game? The Niners lose to the Browns? The Bills barely squeak by the Giants (playing a back-up QB)? I guess parity means they all suck.
The old saying that good D trumps good O still holds water. Eagles D trumped Jets O, but their O literally threw the game away to the Jets D.I was thinking about that. Seemingly, no one could score yesterday.
IMO…..the …earliest ….that Lane gets back in action….is after….the bye. High ankle sprains are a ***** to come back on quickly. If everyone remembers Lane came back too soon ….before his other ankles high sprain was healed and as a result….had to have surgery on it.if you compare the back up tackles the rest of the league has to use, Driscoll is a God send.

That last Hurts interception was preposterous. Hurts was bad yesterday, as bad as I’d ever seen him.The old saying that good D trumps good O still holds water. Eagles D trumped Jets O, but their O literally threw the game away to the Jets D.
Fixed. The NFL is a less interesting version of me.

Well said. Precisely how I see it.Their play calling has been crap all season. What we don’t know is whether that’s Johnson or Hurts (due to RPOs).
The stunner for me is how they stopped going to AJ for so much of the second half. The guy was unstoppable out there. Had Hurts fed him 5-6 more times, they likely win.
The arrogance is going away from what works in a given game and trying to force other stuff. It’s these games that cause the league to look at Sirianni and say he’s successful due to the roster not due to coaching ability.
Can’t he cure himself with more steroids?IMO…..the …earliest ….that Lane gets back in action….is after….the bye. High ankle sprains are a ***** to come back on quickly. The NFL has a random testing program on players without notice and on demand. Some Players may indeed have non steroidal substances in their systems but the current testing protocol is quite accurate as it relates to steroidal substances. The Eagles Star receiver AJ Brown was immediately and randomly tested as he was entering the locker room post game after a recent victory. This was the second time that he was tested and passed in the past 2 seasons. Can’t he cure himself with more steroids?
