Wow. The coaching staff strikes again. They go for it on 4th and 1 while calling a power sneak with skinny Minshew. Stuffed.

That may be the mistake that finally costs them. Awful call.

The defense comes up big again and forces a punt on the Saints short field.

And Minshew throws a pick six for a 20-10 Saints lead. Minshew stinks. He has no business on an NFL field.

The Eagles defense played their butts off today and the coaches and offense lost this game.

We are watching a wild card team. They’re going to lose out a la Arizona last season.

Next week is no gimmie even with Hurts back in the line-up.

Guess Micah Parsons question was answered when he wasn't sure if its the system or Hurts.

Eagles D didn’t play their butts off. My God they never got off the field the first half

4th and 22. Minshew throws a 10 yard route. That says it all. The guy sucks. Two ints last week and the pick six this week.

This makes a stronger case for Hurts as MVP.

I'm so pissed at the Eagles . Brought this on themselves , running Jalen against the Bears when the game was in hand , and rarely relying on Miles with minimal carries. Stupid.
The coaching staff has not been as good as advertised this season. Many coaching staffs could guide this roster to the season they’ve had and likely better.

Just a pathetic performance by the Birds’ offense.
Ponder this…at one point early in the 4th quarter, Miles Sanders had 53 yards on 10 carries. Why the Eagles staff didn’t lean on him for 25 Carrie’s and the other RBs for 10 a piece will baffle me through the off-season.

This staff just can’t take what works and be satisfied. They insisted on lobbing the ball around with their backup QB as if there’s no drop off from Hurts.

Here’s the crazy part. Minshew has a noodle arm compared to hurts. Can’t throw the ball deep. So they called a short to intermediate gameplan for him. So they’re capable of adjusting, at least in the passing game. But they’re not in the running game.

I just can’t square it. Makes no sense.

Per post game news conference he's going to be released tonight

Minshew? What did he say?

nevermind. Words mean things and I didn’t read them. Thought your post said BAD postgame news conference.

The Eagles offense looked flat and uninspired today. The defense stepped up, especially in the second half. Unless something changes on that offense the NJ Giants are going to beat them next week.

So bit of a devils advocate question. With the way they’re playing right now, would they be better off not getting the bye? Do they REALLY need more time off when they’re trying to get back into a rhythm?

They need the bye to help guys get as healthy as possible. You always want the bye and home field advantage.

IF hurts plays next week. Plus if you go into the playoffs losing 3 in a row, that would be an historic meltdown
The good news is that the Giants clinched a playoff spot today. They have a lot less to play for next week now.

If the Eagles lose out, it would be historic for sure. They had a 98% chance of winning the division and top seed even after the loss to the Cowboys.

Defense was not much better… especially in first half

Opening drive for the Saints, the Birds' D allowed a long drive (2 3rd & 4 conversions, and 1 4th & 1 conversion) which resulted in a Saints' TD. After that, the Birds' D allowed 6 points -- none in the 2nd half. That should be good enough to win a game. And with the the Birds' O only getting 1 first down in the 1st half (on the last drive where they took over with under a minute left), the D wasn't getting much rest or much help.

@WestSideLion, where you sitting on my row? My buddy and I kept complaining about the lack of runs for Sanders. Scott and Gainwell are nice backups, but they were in far too much. Sanders showed in the opening drive of the 2nd half what he could do. I think after that drive, he had 1 or 2 runs the rest of the 2nd half.

The numerous false starts by the OL did cause the Birds into throwing situations more often than they would have liked (especially with the way Gardner was (or was not) throwing the ball. But that still doesn't excuse the lack of run calls.

Also, I haven't seen it mentioned, but in the locker room A.J. indicated on the pick-6 that he was trying to get Minshew's attention, as it was clear the Saints were expecting the play that was called, and he wanted him to know to go elsewhere. If you check the replays, you can see that he was motioning to the QB, but Gardner never looked over to him until he threw the ball, which Lattimore was waiting for.

I’m just like the other 80,000 Joe Blows calling out the obvious. But this staff doesn’t inspire confidence. They’re still very young and should get better. It’s just a tough time to see these continued patterns of mistakes.
