It's today's financial reality for placing children in a safe environment actually concerned with educational advancement.

I suspect you've already done the maths and that $90k is for two young ones ---->>>> X children * Y remaining years * $90k/yr * (1.05^Y)

He’s actually not getting this:

I doubt very much I’d send 1 and 2 to Middletown after seeing it up close for 2 years. They’d be here:
also DE lax bro champs

1 n 2 went here for free (ignore the 20k per property tax)
Hunterdon Co continues to dominate
FLEMINGTON, NJ - Hunterdon Central Regional High School has been ranked the 14th best high school in the state, according to the 2024 U.S. News and World Report rankings. This is out of a total of about 400 schools. Nationally, the school ranks as number 258, out of more than 13,000.
That’s one of the nicer area’s in NJ. Yes indeed a great HS with a decent football program. But you can’t can’t ignore the 17k to 25k in average property taxes.

So you don't expect Allen and/or Singleton to have particularly good years?
Exact opposite. They will have good years and most likely be gone after this year, but there will still be several hungry RBs on the roster when they are gone, plus the others already committed. Add in the portal and RBs shouldn’t be too hard to fill on a roster. There’s a reason why NFL teams don’t spend too much time and money on RBs these days. Losing a single RB commit shouldn’t cause panic.

My neighbor works there, sent their 3 kids. Ones an aerospace engineer, ones a dentist and ones a computer guy. That’s 3 for 3 if we’re keeping count.

How did I know the Franklin Fan Club would spin this into "all is well"...

It's today's financial reality for placing children in a safe environment actually concerned with educational advancement.

I suspect you've already done the maths and that $90k is for two young ones ---->>>> X children * Y remaining years * $45k/yr * (1.05^Y)

We've got 2 starting RBs in the NFL. We've got the best RB duo in college football and we've got a 5 star FR in the wings with 2 RB commits in the 2025 class but yeah, we're supposed to panic because some HS RB from Alabama decommitted to play for Auburn. We're not being apologists, just realistic. The Franklin haters have plenty of reasons to hate but our RB room isn't one of them.

Especially a kid who almost everyone knew when he committed, that he would eventually decommit.

Same guys complaining were saying “oh he’s never going to stick to this commitment”, typical, talking out of both sides of their mouths

It’s Franklin‘s fault for recruiting a kid who we all knew wouldn’t stick with us. Stupid Franklin.

It's odd how a PSU site has so many uninformed posters at times, but this is the free board. It's almost comical how dumb they are. Decommits were happening before Franklin and when you recruit kids from 1000 miles away in the deep south, it's almost a guarantee they will continue to get pressure go elsewhere.

This wasn't the first or the last and certainly isn't some type trend one way or the other. Just last week he landed a top 100CB from California and a 3/4 star safety from Florida. PSU is where they have been in recruiting in spite of having less NIL than many other "blue bloods". People using recruiting to knock Franklin in todays landscape are basically clueless as to where the sport is now versus 20 years ago. Just look at the NIL allocations right next to the team rankings....and maybe do a tiny bit of critical thinking if possible. PSU is closer in NIL and in the team rankings to RUTGERS than tOSU. Does not say anything? Just look at the schools above us and the NIL allocation. Buy hey.... just fire coach and it's all fixed.

Expect more and more of this. Penn State will not be able to keep up with NIL offers to players.

Other schools have a wheelbarrow full of cash on the official visit. We show kids the library and give them a scoop of Alumni Swirl.

Up until now, you would be right. But, I think the concern of late has much to do with Franklin's continuing inability to win big games. Ultimately that could catch up and negatively impact recruiting. Throw in the other factors such as NIL, etc. and you have a potentially serious problem.

If you're a good parent with smart kids, it's burning money just to say you can.

He's recruiting basically at the same level with less NIL than those above him. So just because it gets repeated daily on here by the same few folks doesn't make it necessarily so. If your theory was true, he would really be tanking with less money and this concern about big games, would he not? If anything he is doing better in team rankings by staying nearly the same as the last few years....odd logic, but you cannot say he is doing worse with more because that isn't the case. Largest alumni base in the country, might be the tightest too in terms of wanting wins without chipping in. PSU has fans that want to be "elite", but something isn't adding up. Looking at the numbers in that link below, you really think PSU is a top 5 team or in position to land a top 5 coach. Are they setup to be a top 5-10 school consistently today?

Serious problem with a three-word solution: University of Chicago.

Shut it down.
