You aren’t obsessed? How many times today did you comment on this topic? How many times every day do you comment on it? I’m assuming you are retired since you have all day to comment.
Don't understand how one can be obsessed when one doesn't care. As I said, recreation, entertainment.

I wanted Fredo, Lubrano, and Pope to all go down. Well, one out of three is progress...

Oh ********. I detest people's inability to evaluate projects on their merits. People have somehow got it in their mindset that spending money solves everything. I remember taking Six Sigma courses over 20 years ago and thinking why is this all the rage (at the time), and then it occurred to me its real benefit was teaching root cause analysis to the average person. The average person just isn't taught proper analytical skills. I've been saying you have to spend money to spend money for years. Why? Because most people think the goals of the people proposing the spending actually align with their vision of what will be accomplished. Look at the stadium project. Are you even aware it doesn't meet its financial objectives?
Do you think the stadium project has any financial objectives in the conventional sense i.e. achieving a reasonable rate of (financial) return, or, failing that, being cost effective? The more I hear the powers that be describe their approach, the more I become convinced that there aren't any. They're just building something that they think needs to be built. Remember the term "satisficing?"

Legitimate question. Does Jay Paterno have a real job?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jay's "job"*** for the past 30+ years has been "cashing in on his last name."

To his "credit", Jay has made some $$$ off his last name. At this point in his life, as the gray hairs start creeping, in, there's about a 0.000000000000000001% chance of him pursuing any sort of career change.

--------------

*** - (outside of those couple days in 2019 when he was shilling for Saudi Oil sheiks)

It's funny how many people dislike Jay and most of them have never met him.

Looks like Dambly construction is off the board. Think he’s still on the Penn State Health board (along with Masser)…still fleecing our university…construction of new facilities in Lancaster and Mechanicsburg, yet can’t even adequately staff the mothership in Hershey…Today Penn State Health is advertising 1484 job openings….
So you think they shouldn't continue to expand because of job openings? They should just slowly die and let UPMC, Penn Health and Well Span squeeze them out of the market? I know this may be a shock but when you have over 18,000 employees you are always going to have a ton of job openings. All health systems are constantly advertising for positions because of the high turnoverin the field.

Can you also explain to be how these open bid projects are some how fixed? These projects are not awarded. IF they are really fleecing the university why aren't companies not under bidding them?

Financial objectives met? No. I think they tried to massage the numbers as best they could, but had to give up as a justification - that's how bad they are. Fundraising is non-existant. Brick sale? Ok, that'll buy a mens room door or two. Maybe they can spring for a fancy matching set. They're spending money because they can. Franklin likes 107k strong? Too bad. I joke that Tennessee's going to surpass the Beav, but more importantly it looks like Ohio State will too. Franklin wants better facilities for the athletes? We'll see what's left over. For all the bluster that football drives the AD wagon train, the actual program sure seems to take a back seat in the funding priorities.

Remember all that talk how the program could absorb all those fines and unwarranted supposed victim payouts? That aged well. Guess what just ended, time to start spending on neglected pet projects again at the expense of the program. Too bad Franklin, we'll finally hire an NIL coordinator for you, maybe get you some new weight sets and paint.

Thank you for the non sequitur.
Hey look the guy that sits in the suites and voted against the renovations liked a comment from a guy that won't answer when the last time he was in Beaver Stadium. How cute.

That bothers you that I won't tell you, nor do I care that it does. But you're welcome to keep asking.

What you really seem to miss, or gloss over, is the end goal for all this needless spending.

You're giving then too much credit. I don't think there are any numbers other than $700mm, arrived at by putting the cart before the horse.

Ok. So since the money is coming out of your personal pockets what is your proposal? Do nothing?

Most view Jay as yesterdays news…old, tired and ready for fresh ideas.
Apparently not most whose opinions count. Those that have opinions that matter just reelected him to the BOT.

All geezers stuck in the 80s. PSU has 750,000 living alumni. 11,000 voted for Jay…or 1%.

So 739,000 didn't dislike him enough to vote for someone else. 🤔
Unfortunately 11,000 geezers still stuck in the 80’s can’t get past the idol worship of the former coaches son…oh well.

Please list the reasons for electing Jay without mention his dad or the past. 1…2…3…go

It’s pretty stupid to vote for Jay simple because one likes his dad. But that being said, I haven’t really seen much of any reason to justify not voting for him based on his performance as a Trustee. What exactly has he done or not done that makes him a poor choice for Trustee (understanding that Alumni Trustees are pretty much powerless to achieve anything).

seems to me that the people vehemently against him seem colored by him being a terrible position coach in football over his particular qualifications for the BoT.

Academic ranking has gone from 50th to 77th during his tenure. We now rank in the bottom third of the Big 10 academically. Anyone on the board during that time needs to go.

As far as him being a bad coach, no one in their right mind considered Jay a coach. Everyone knew why he was there.

We still deserve better.

Reality is, he is an elected trustee and you are bitching about it. Who is the loser?

1. I don't believe anyone voted for or against Jay based on his daddy. Thats's just stupid.
2. We should vote in a political situation to justify not voting for someone and vote for the other candidate . . .just because?!?
3. Who is talking about his coaching resume?
4. What has he accomplished as a BOT member so far?

PSU is the loser.

Let’s try again. Please list the reasons for electing Jay without mentioning his dad or the past.

Kind hearted people wanted him to win an election for something....anything

Kind of like when a kid who is held back twice is elected class president
