"seems to be a .500 coach with teams that lack toughness...." Matt Rhule 57-66.
You must be right! That it was he had his choice of NFL jobs just few years after working magic at Temple and Baylor. With much less to work with than build competition. And why he was sitting at top of Michigan’s wish list had Harbaugh moved on.

You are either a numbskull or a relative of Matt Rhule. Actually, you could be both.

I wonder how many NFL owners would rush to hire Rhule if he were on the market today? I think we both know. The"magic " Rhule worked at Temple made him a slightly above.500 coach there.....and you forgot to add that it was Al Golden who turned the program around at Temple. Franklin worked real "magic" at Vandy, where no one could achieve what he did there, before or after him! Speaking of Magic....how about a Big Ten title, fresh off of draconian sanctions?

That might be a combination that would work? At this point, Franklin’s game day coaching does not seem like it will be suffice. But a good admin and PR person and anyone would be better than Sandy.
we just hired a new AD to replace Sandy! get up to speed!

Let’s see if Kraft stays on.

“Asked how he would balance the financial needs of the other sports with football, Kraft cited a need to dive into the books.”

He could reach his breaking point right quick.

If anything in my above post is untrue, just advise me. Love the name-calling from a former “educator”…and people wonder why we are slipping behind the Chinese.

How about mired in mediocrity, taking on water as a program? And headed in the wrong direction fast?

The bottom line is that Rhule was the hottest commodity in the NFL a few years back. Franklin never was…

Matt my be “Not For Longed” soon but Franklin “never was.”

And if so, Rhule will resume his fabulous CFB career and will have many, many suitors.

Not saying that Franklin is a world class coach or that rhule is not a good one, but what exactly has rhule accomplished as a cfb coach?

As far as I can tell it was The Temple/PSU game. 🤷‍♂️
Hell we had some posters last week, that wanted Franklin replaced with the Duzz or Paul Chryst, you know the coaches that Franklin has like a 5-1 record against.

See Temple and Baylor? But don’t ask me, ask the NFL execs that placed him at the top of the “most wanted list.” And Michigan who placed him at the top of the list “to replace Harbaugh” should JH decide to leave.

He won an AAC championship between temple and Baylor. Would you put that higher then a B10 title?

I would place Rhule’s coaching accomplishments ahead of Franklin - yes. And apparently those who are paid for a living to evaluate do as well.

I would be willing to bet that a Rhule-led PSU team would not be bullied in their home field by the likes of Illinois 2021.

You mean like losing to Liberty or UTSA or Texas Tech but you are correct he wasn't bullied by the likes of Illinois.

So AAC championship > B10 championship. Got it.

NFL: 10–23 (.303)
NCAA: 47–43 (.522)
Bowls: 1–2 (.333)

Vs

NCAA: 91–49
Bowls: 5–5

62 million vs 80 million.

Group of 5 conference title vs Power 5 conference title.
