Hey Franklin haters, is a playoff game a big game? Win or go home. Elimination. Season ends.

all of this is just paterno excuse making 101 being repackaged for Franklin. There was always some reason why everyone else could win, but poor joe had to fight with one hand behind his back because allegedly we did it “the right way”. Made it sound more noble when he lost, repeatedly, in those later years. The more excuses the fans made for Joe, the longer he got to stay. That worked out splendidly for everyone. I applaud what James has done so far this season, but this was always the standard he should have been held to rather than the “10 wins against anyone with a pulse is good enough” crap we had to hear about for years at length (paterno advanced excuse making 102). Just wait till next season if James gets knocked out in an early round or fails to qualify at all, Paterno excuse making master classes will be in session.

Candidly, I think he has done enough that he will get another shot at the playoffs again next year. Allar was apparently sold on it so much so that he came back. Will have to see.
Are you trying to convince yourself or something? Excuse making session....LOL...get a grip. So upset he's doing well you had to vent.

Every time you post your silly diatribes, just know folks picture you as a 400 lb. acne-riddled guy with a speech impediment wearing a "no fat chicks" t-shirt and talking about how Scarlett Johannsen and Beyonce are "hard passes" because they aren't up to your physical standards. I thought when you finally gave birth, maybe you'd mellow out. Alas, it was not to be.

As we sit here on the 38th Anniversary of the last time Penn State won the National Championship, we should keep in mind that PSU has a 25% chance of winning the National Championship. These are the best odds since Jan 1, 1995 when PSU had a 50% chance of winning, until St. Joe's Prep Frank Costa could not get Miami past Nebraska in the Orange Bowl.

Enjoy the ride, folks. It does not happen often.

In the current CFB landscape any discussion about getting rid of Franklin should be put to bed. He overachieved this year and may have another win or two in him. Five years ago, when NIL didn’t rule, I was more supportive of moving on because I felt in game decisions and game management were never going to improve. They still might not, but with no sure fire way to fix it I believe it’s better to keep what we have and hope for the best. Losing to OSU and Michigan every year sucks, but there is no magic bullet save cash - Franklin has kept our stars, developed NFL talent, and recruited better than our NIL resources would suggest. No one was going to ever replace Saban but DeBoer was handed a Ferrari and promptly drove it into a wall. We could maybe do better but would likely do worse. This is the best year for PSU football since ‘94. Let’s enjoy it.

I tend to agree. Im not a hater or supporter of franklin. I root for psu and want them to win every game every year although I know it isn't realistic. I said last year after the bowl loss franklin produces good teams consistently. I dont know if he can get psu a national title. I further stated a year ago who do you replace him with? They're aren't many coaches available that have won a title and you could do a lot worse. Im sure everyone on here is pulling for psu to win 2 more games as I am. This year has been a resounding success. If he wins one more he overachieved. 2 more and a natty and this all goes away.

I'll bet the odds improve soon
Not if you include criteria such as coaching, talent and post-season and head to head game histories

Simple probability gives PSU a 25% chance of winning, but flipping a coin twice and winning is far different from playing a football game.
