My only comment is that I have seen salesmen of all genders, colors and persuasions, many of whom I thought would never make it, turn out to be stellar salespeople and they all had one thing in common - the ability to sell themselves first. If a salesman can't sell himself to a buyer first, I don't care what the product is, the sale may happen on a rare occasion but not with consistency. Some salesmen rub people the wrong way with their personality, approach, character traits, etc. which have nothing to do with race, gender or persuasion. I've seen a change in salesperson work in both directions. Change salesperson and sales go up because that person did not click with the customer base or change salesperson and sales go down because that person had sold the customer base on him as a person and the buyers wanted the company to know they made a mistake by removing them from the territory. All that to say be cautious in making judgement when analyzing a change such as the one you mentioned.
